My husband and I often come here for Sunday lunch. Unlike the restaurant menu on other days it's a carvery but don't let that put you off as it's not the usual boring offerings dried up by the overhead lights but lovely freshly cooked veg and plump meats carved for you by the chef. There's a great family atmosphere and... More

I really like the food. Very tasty and very high standard and quality. The service was a little hap-hazzard but not awful

Came with friends for a pre Christmas catch up as they had been before and said it was brilliant. Upon arrival we were taken to the restaurant area and were seated near the large open fire-perfect as it was freezing out!! We ordered our drinks and began looking at the menu. My friend wanted a particular pint of beer but... More

On our infrequent trips to our old home town we always try and find time for lunch at "the Coach". If you're not a local may be a little tricky to find but leaving the square and heading for the Quarry up Swan Hill will get you there. Lunch menu is sufficient to cover all needs from a full roast... More

Called in here for a few drinks as we enjoy our real ale. Couldn't fault it, good oldie worldie pub, full to the brim with every age person. Good choice of ales, locally brewed as well. Didn't try the food but will be returning. Great evening had & met a really friendly dog!!

I went with friends to this establishment (13.12.14) and we had the Christmas meal, puddings etc. The food was very tasty and well served. Lovely atmosphere and the staff were very friendly. Good choice of various beers. Fairly priced.

Having read Vicky's review felt I had to leave mine, although my visit was long ago, during the June food festival. All I will say is about 10 of us had the festival taster menu, 2 off us did not get our second course and the attitude of the manager was absolutely diabolical. No apology -he actually said"nothing I can do... Great pub and pub food with great local ales. As a fan of Salopian Ales had Oracle and Gold, On the wine front the Merlot was fantastic. Food wise the main menu seemed like restaurant prices but we opted for baguettes, which are half the price of main menu meals but certainly not half the content and very filling. You... More

I have had many meals here. Mostly ok and fairly priced. My last visit here I had cause to send a meal back, the stroganoff sauce had an acidic taste and I wondered if it had been over reduced. The manager was so rude and defensive that the lovely waitress was embarrassed and did not know where to put herself.... More
