Good meal - shame about the portions

The service was good and the staff very pleasant. The food is good quality and well presented but the size of the fish portion was small and therefore, not value for money.

Warm welcome. Shown to our table and the waitress presented menus and asked us if we had any vouchers. "Yes, gourmet society card" I replied. She quickly took away the lunch time special. I asked another waiter if we could have the lunch time special menu back and he presented the menu to us and said the Gourmet Society Card... More

We have visited this restaurant several times now and are still to be convinced that they provide a quality and value for money experience. This visit was on a Tuesday lunchtime and we were surprised how few fellow diners there were. We opted for a two course set lunch at £10.99 and both choose crispy sprats with garlic aioli as... Visited on a Saturday so expected it to be busy but not quite as busy it was! Really needed to have booked and many turned away after us. Service was very friendly and efficient considering the number of people eating and the food was consistently food.

We had the lobster platter, it was delicious especially the Loch Fyne oysters. Merlot was very tasty too.

My husband and I went to this restaurant last week. We had three excellent courses I had the aubergine and goat's cheese bake followed by bream, and finished off with salted caramel cheesecake. My husband started with the smoked fish, but unfortunately I can't remember what main he had, but he finished off with 3 boules of ice cream.. The... More

Went with 3 others on a lunchtime and all enjoyed the food. I chose to eat from the reasonably prices lunch menu and was particularly pleased with my spaghetti with prawns main course. Others had the giant prawn starters, fish pie and battered cod main courses and we all pleased enough to say we would eat there again. The staff... More

We visited on. Monday night and it was quite quiet but still had atmosphere. The set menus was good value and I enjoyed the spaghetti with chilli prawns along with a desert. Service was good and the female who served us was informative and pleasant.

What has happened to the food here?! I have eaten here on a number of occasions but this time the meal was poor. The service was good but the 2 course menu was mediocre - the sprats were OK but the fish of the day was flabby and the accompanying vegetables were a disgrace with rock hard carrots and broccoli... I have been a fan of Loch Fyne for many years, but now wonder whether it is over? My last visit to the Shrewsbury outlet was underwhelming, in service, food and atmosphere. Service the Drinks waiter was humourous and competent, but the food waitress was disappointing. She was a young woman, and may well have been new or recently trained,... More
