We always make sure we eat here when we visit Shrewsbury. The dining room in this lovely old building is elegant and quirky. The food is fantastic. We shared parmesan & fennel breadsticks wrapped with parma ham as a starter, then bollisto misto (slow cooked belly pork with amazing crackling) for mains. My husband had decaff affogato and I had... This was our favourite place to eat in Shrewsbury. It can be found in a quiet street only minutes from the centre of town. The dining room is unpretentious and a bit quirky. I'd guess not more than a dozen tables. Started with the Goats' cheese soufflé, which my partner reported as flavoursome and fine, and I had Layered Cornish... More

We enjoyed a very good meal in this atmospheric restaurant housed in a very old building. Service was prompt and friendly. The food was delicious, my gazpacho was excellent with the unusual addition of sliced egg and black olives(it worked for me!). The Sea Bass was well cooked and the puddings were very acceptable. Good place to go in a... More

Excellent food and service - not much else you can say about it! We will definitely go back there hopefully many times in the future.

Gareth and Teresa are fabulous hosts and their food is always delicious. Sunday roast is the closest to the best home made roast you will find. Had beef-burger and salad yesterday - really really good. Always a delight. Thank you.

We were staying in Shrewsbury and looking for somewhere for an evening meal. We saw this pretty place and, after reading the menu, decided to eat here. We were glad we did. The food was delicious, especially the sea bass. The staff were friendly.

We stayed at the Golden Cross in Shrewsbury in October 2013 for a special birthday. My wife and I stayed in Room 1 - the suite with the extravagant Four poster bed. If you're looking for all the mod cons then this won't be the hotel for you. It does have all the usual facilities but they don't overtake the... More

Sit in the mall courtyard for pre dinner drinks and try the fish and chips. Great value and quality.

I came here for Sunday lunch when visiting family in Shrewsbury with my boyfriend. The decor is beautiful, the staff were very welcoming even though we didn't have a booking.Bread and cashew nuts for starters to share were lovely. Would have been nice to have separate oil and vinegar for the breads as a suggestion to improve. I had the... More
