lovely cosy lunch

Four of us ate here on a Saturday lunchtime. We hadn't booked but there was plenty of room. My friend said it had recently been taken over and she had heard good reviews. Staff were friendly and helpful, working really hard at both bar and serving. Good choice of food, we didn't have a starter... read more

Popped in for a couple of pints. Staff are very friendly, beer was nice. This was a very welcoming pub. The menu looked good but we didn't eat.

In the centre of the Town, just through the arch in Lower Broad Street. Good food and drinks in cosy, beamed surroundings.

We ate here twice and where not disappointed, food was served quickly , hot and big portions which went down well with us! The place was clean and the staff friendly and the beer good. Certainly if we were asked we would highly recommend.

Live locally so eat here from time to time. Extensive, higher price menu available but today we each chose from the good selection of lunch specials. The steak and ale pie at £5.95 represented excellent value for money. Other options inc. Cod and chips, double egg, ham and chips etc.

Only had a quick drink here, but it was lovely and quaint, listening to the stories from the locals, great position and kept it's old interior unlike some of the other local pubs.

The position at the top of the street lends itself to sipping and sitting on a nice night. Beth, behind the bar will assist you with your drinks and take your dinner order. From there its all plain sailing. The food is well cooked and the proportions generous. Fish and chips the first visit. Good and crunchy. Second visit.... Belly... More
