Description: With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw...
With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw restaurant in Shropshire is guaranteed to impress even the most fanatical foodies. Located in Ironbridge near Telford, Chez Maw enjoys picturesque views looking out over the parklands, gardens and the River Severn - ideal for post-dining strolls - and the understated dining room has been recently refurbished in a chic palette of vanilla and blonde wood. The restaurant has a brilliant modern British menu, and we love the pressed Wenlock Edge ham hock and parsley terrine with red cabbage and apple puree; the fillet of Welsh Black beef cooked in a shallot marinade served with potato fondant, buttered spinach and a poached egg; and the mocha panna cotta.

Excellent Restaurant

We were staying in the Valley Hotel where Chez Maw is and decided to eat here on the Sunday night, was a good selection on the menu and the food was very good, we were not disappointed. The atmosphere and the set up of the room was also excellent. All the staff were very professional and polite

Given the good reviews I was taken aback to find that my friend and I walked into an empty bar on a Bank Holiday lunchtime. The barman was friendly and we took a seat in the bar area to study the menus. I had been assured that they catered for gluten free and asked what was suitable from the menu.... More

Always a pleasant professional greeting every time we visit this great restaurant. Delicious food which is always amazingly presented. The lovely staff remember us and treat us like royalty. We are going back this weekend to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Really looking forward to it. If you join the email club, occasionally you get invited to special offers.

We had an excellent meal here. Things got off to a shaky start. We arrived early - before they were properly open - which, I think, threw them a little. Then we confused things further by going straight to our table instead of taking a seat in the bar first. The young waiter, however, behaved impeccably. He adapted quickly to... More

Didn't eat here as found the menu limited and a little expensive for what it was. Have eaten here in the past.

This is a lovely restaurant with fantastic food and staff. I would certainly recommend a visit. The location is close to the River Severn and you can walk in the gardens after your meal.

Fabulous eating experience. The beginning was odd to us; perhaps British "club style". We were asked to sit in the bar area and order there. We were shown to our table when the first ordered items were ready. Beautiful restaurant, with windows onto a garden area. We had sea bass with a very tasty cumin sauce, pulled lamb, side salads,... Visited Chez Maw after reading positive reviews on tripadvisor, and we weren't disappointed! Food was fantastic (the caramelized onion gnocchi were melt in the mouth) and the service from the young staff was excellent. Something special that is set apart from other places in the area, topped off with amazing views into the garden and up onto Benthal Edge. Would... More
