Description: With a sunny light-filled dining room and two AA Rosettes, Chez Maw restaurant in Shropshire is guaranteed to impress even the most fanatical foodies. Located in Ironbridge near Telford, Chez Maw enjoys picturesque views looking out over the parklands, gardens and the River Severn - ideal for post-dining strolls - and the understated dining room has been recently refurbished in a chic palette of vanilla and blonde wood. The restaurant has a brilliant modern British menu, and we love the pressed Wenlock Edge ham hock and parsley terrine with red cabbage and apple puree; the fillet of Welsh Black beef cooked in a shallot marinade served with potato fondant, buttered spinach and a poached egg; and the mocha panna cotta.

We returned to The Valley's Chez Maw restaurant to celebrate our anniversary six years after we celebrated our marriage there and everything about it was as perfect as our wedding day. The food is excellent and the standard and personal service is brilliant. We enjoyed pre dinner drinks on the terrace in the evening sun and then enjoyed a three... More

I was taken here for my birthday meal by my boyfriend. When we arrived we were greeted with some wine and then sat down with menus and complimentary canopies to enjoy while we perused the menu. When the food arrived it was presented beautifully as tasted as good as it looked. The staff were exceptional and the service what of... More

We had a superb meal served by efficient and friendly staff worthy of a top restaurant, starters we chose a Terrine followed by the special of the day the Pork tenderloin, very reasonably priced with good views over the hotel gardens. Only minor criticism is some of the decor which is a bit of a throw back to the eighties.... More

I was desperately trying to find somewhere to eat last minute on a Saturday night. Read some TripAdvisor reviews and luckily they had a table available. This turned out to have a fantastic view of the gardens and was so impressed with food, ambience service and value. Really recommend giving this place a go. Don't let the hotel chain issue... More

We visited on Saturday evening and luckily had pre booked as the restaurant was busy, bustling and quite noisy with people enjoying themselves. Lovely setting at the side of the hotel and with beautiful gardens,a nice bar area, friendly and knowledgeable staff and a nice ambiance. Our meals were simply delicious from start to finish and portions were surprisingly ample. I would... More

Went for a meal for our wedding anniversary, hadn't pre booked and were staying elsewhere in Ironbridge but the staff couldn't have been more welcoming. Several other diners in the restaurant, which meant there was a pleasant atmosphere. Had two courses, well cooked and presented, reasonably priced and we were not under pressure to eat up, eventhough we were quite... More

My wife and I didned here on the first night of our stay in the hotel. The service was effecien and very professional but not obtrusive or intimidating. The lady who seems to run the place was excellent but so was every memeber of staff we had contact with. The food was really nice, well presented and not at all... More

I hadn't realised when I booked the restaurant that it was part of a hotel - we usually avoid hotel restaurants like the plague,so I was genuinly surprised at the atmosphere and service along with a very nice menu. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was excellent. We would definately return if we are in the area... More

First visit upon recommendation , and was not disappointed . The bar area is tucked around the riverside of the hotel , and a little tricky to find in the dark. Initial welcome was warm , and menus explained nicely by Lee who seemed very competent and efficient . Service was well executed by a young team and the evening... More

Greeted by friendly staff who were attentive right from the moment we arrived. Bottle of bubbly ordered and brought over to us at the bar in an ice bucket and poured (unlike so many restaurants now where they plonk it on the bar and leave it to you to pour!) The food was divine! I had haddock velouté, lamb shoulder... More
