This quaint little pub, tucked away at the top of the hill before your descent in to Ironbridge, is a true local jewel. After searching all day in Shrewsbury and Ironbridge for a vegetarian meal option that wasn't risotto, it was with great delight to see a menu that had five vegetarian options for main meals! My girlfriend (the vegetarian)... More

If you're visiting Ironbridge, it's worth venturing out of the town a little way to find this place. There's not much room to park outside, so leave the car somewhere else and walk there. In the evenings, food is served from 6:30pm to 9pm - you can book ahead if you think it might be busy. We visited on a... More

This is my second review of this place, although I have been four times now. It's never let me down. I cannot fault the food. The Sunday dinner is so tasty. The beef melts in the mouth, there is no taste of "mass made" like some Sunday roasts you get when out. The value for money is excellent. The deserts... More

we found this pub online before we travelled on arrival we were surprised by how small it seemed but once inside it got a lot bigger ! The food served is lovely especially the homemade pie of the week, proper pastry and there was a good selection on the menu for all tastes.we enjoyed it so much we went back... More

The best pub meal i've ever had. The homemade pie of the day which was steak and stilton was to die for. The beef oxford is equally delicious. The staff including the chef are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We have been back several times and have never been disappointed. We feel cheated when we've been else... More

This is a little old pub, doesn't look like much from outside. But the food is surprisingly good, all home cooked, and it has a selection of vegetarian options. They’re very helpful, I can’t eat gluten or dairy and the owner/chef knows what I can and can’t eat and will adapt dishes if possible. We've eaten there many times, it's... More

My husband and I visited Ironbridge for a long weekend and decided to try the best pub for local pies. We were not disappointed! It wasn't busy at all, even though we booked a table, and we were treated to some fantastic ales at the bar. We ordered spicy chicken wings to start, then followed with the pie of the... More

Excellent meal. Very fairly priced. We went as a large family, including 2 children. This has to be a little gem ,out of the usual Iron bridge run, but definitely worth making the detour.one of us had the famous pie and said it was better than ever..am already planning another trip there.

Popped in after a walk, wasn't busy, weren't expecting much but food tasted fresh, was hot and big portions, particularly my pie of the day. Puddings too tasted homemade. Lemon and lime cheesecake very good. Staff helpful and friendly. Very impressive food!
