Great discovery

Was recommended this pub for an evening meal by someone we met randomly on the golf course. Slightly out of the way, but easy walk up from the center of Ironbridge. Decor lovely, but may be a bit spit and sawdust for some. Food fantastic and great value - freshly cooked and very tasty. Staff... read more

It would be churlish to level any criticism at the quality of food , preparation and presentation. In spite of its name the Horse and Jockey is a restaurant not a drinkers pub. Its half size open ended bar sets a cosy tone of friendliness and trust. It probably seats around 35/40. Portions are not generous. Cheap bulkouts like potatoes... More

As a vegetarian I don't often have much of a choice in restaurants, but hear I found an excellent selection for starter and main course. I went for a Vege Burger, which was delicious. Don't think frozen burgers and bread rolls, but think a home made delicious burger wrapped in Halomi. My chum had traditional fish and chips which again... More

This is the 2nd time we have visited for Sunday lunch and we are so impressed with both the quality of the food (great vegetarian option for the Sunday roast) and how brilliant they are with our dog. We had such a warm welcome and even when our dog knocked the bowl of water they had put down for him... More

Just back from another family meal at the Horse & Jockey. We had four different main courses between us, all really tasty - and the chips are so good! We found the service good, as always - friendly and helpful. And quick, which helps when you have a toddler with you!

I would have to say after reading all the excellent reviews for the Horse and Jockey we were slightly disappointed with our Sunday lunch experience. The pub itself is very small and I would estimate seats around 35 and does not have a separate bar area so if your not eating you can't really have a beer as there is... More

Visited the Horse And Jockey Easter Sunday for a quick drink after a long walk to Ironbrige, the food looked good so thought we must try. We returned today to see if it tasted as good as it looked. I had Duck Pancake and my partner the black pudding with poached eggs as starters, followed by the 2x stakes and... More

Visited with our young family - they only serve well-behaved children - and their menu didn't disappoint. Freshly prepared meals and while our youngest had chicken goujons, they were clearly home cooked and not fished out of a freezer. A real find in Ironbridge, worth a visit. Vfm.
