We called in one late afternoon on the way back from a walk in Derbyshire. Sat outside with a drink admiring the lovely view over the valley. Beer from the very local Bradfield Brewery is excellent. Picked up a menu and as they were serving food at 5:30 we decided to eat there as well. I had the Dambuster meat... More

This is a hard review to write. We visited for a late summer evening meal outside to enjoy the wonderful view and for our toddler to play on the well-stocked play area. I wanted a steak my partner wanted fish and chips. However, there is an outside menu and an inside menu - the outside menu appears to be an... More

Where else can you purchase 2 meals for a fiver... Of decent quality and portion size!?! (Lunchtime only!) The pie was packed with meat and was yummy with the Hendersons Relish. The lasagne was on the small side however. A great reliable place for an everyday lunch.

You can't fault the location: smack next door to the village church, atop a steep hill (ask any cyclist other than a tour de Francer) with a view of green, rolling dales and in the distance down below the Damflask reservoir. We went for lunch in the middle of August and were shocked to find the place rammed - good... More

As the title suggests you won't go home hungry provided you can stomach the food. Went with a party of friends. Burger stack, the burgers were inedible and were returned but the replacements were no better. Finally returned one meal altogether. Mixed grill read mixed salty meat and all agreed the chips were very poor. Won't visit again for a... More

Lots of it , but not overly expensive. For anyone wanting a plateful at a cheap price , by all means try it. The formula clearly works since the place is buzzing and over the weekend we visited,a table reservation was required. The local beers were excellent and the staff very friendly and hardworking. However, we would sooner pay a... More

One of my favourite locations with stunning views of the valley and reservoirs below. Four of us visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. The pub was very busy and we were quickly and politely advised that further tables were available upstairs and given clear information on the ordering procedure. The room upstairs was a lovely surprise with large windows making the... More

I really shouldn't have gone back to a place I frequented over fifteen years ago, but putting that aside I can only review now. After a trip to Derbyshire two friends and I decided to call in at the Horns having had a peek at TA reviews. There did seem to be a lot of different menu choices (and menu... More

Second time I've visited this great pub, whilst walking in this lovely area. On this occasion we were lucky to get a table, as it was packed, so I recommend booking. Nice day had the pooch so the patio was a good spot overlooking the gorgeous countryside. Varied menu with a 2 meals for a £5 option, which seemed very... More
