I was pleasantly surprised by this little place. Lovely little dishes are available and the service is great despite the fact that only one waitress was working. My girlfriend and I were made to feel very welcome. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant has recently changed hands and it's not as good as it used to be. They had run out of many dishes and the front of house was too busy entertaining a couple at the bar to notice the rest of her customers. Great shame because this place used to be a great little spot.

Best cakes I tried in ages. The staff is absolutely friendly. Everything is made with loads of love and the fact that it is small contributes to the cosy aura it has. PS: I have written a 10,000 word essay there, the internet is quite fast, just choose the non busy hours :)

I've been to El Toro a number of times in the last few weeks - with family, my partner and friends. El Toro functions as a authentic Tapas restaurant throughout the day and into the evening, but there is also a huge breakfast menu, various sandwiches/flans, etc available during the day, and they're quite happy for you to just go... I visited el Toro this evening with a friend who is new to Sheffield and wants to be introduced to good places to eat. The seating area is very limited. Admittedly the other tables were all occupied but I don't think this justifies the fact that we were completely forgotten, despite sitting directly in front of the counter. My friend... More

I came with a large group of friends and despite being a large table we had fabulous, attentive service. Food was lovely- we had most of the tapas dishes on the menu and all were great, Patas bravas and the chorizo dish both stood out. Try as many as possible! The waitresses were really knowledgeable about the menu and clearly... More

We have been eating out in Sheffield for eight years now and El Toro is still by far our favourite. The tapas is fabulous and always really fresh, wine is good, the cakes and puddings are amazing and the service is always warm and friendly. It has a very laid back atmosphere and is somewhere to take your time over... More

This cosy little Spanish bistro gave us a warm welcome & very tasty food. Tapas is about £5/dish, and 6 plates between me & fella left us nicely full without being stuffed (and we were both very hungry!) The table of 20+ made the restaurant noisy & did delay our food, but the waitress was so charming we didn't mind.... More

Great experience. Good choice of food, very well cooked with obviously really fresh ingredients. Friendly staff, a little over stretched. Good value. Will definitely return, probably in the evening to try the cocktails.

I was slightly apprehensive suggesting this restaurant after reading comments about unfriendly service. I needn't have worried. Both waitresses were very friendly and attentive without being pushy. One of our party has a food allergy and one of the waitresses took time to go through the menu highlighting any dishes that would be unsuitable. The tapas was lovely and slightly... More
