Pleasant lunchtime visit

It was a nice surprise to find that this was dog-friendly. We visited on a weekday early lunchtime so it was very quiet. It was a nice cosy envisonment. I had a very nice pint of stout. I had a chicken ceasar salad and my partner had a chicken and bacon sandwich with chips. All of the food was... read more

Well, gave this pub a try the week we moved to Sheffield - What a great first impression! Great looking place, really cosy and winter warming! Had not given the thornbridge brewery a try before, though with it being a thornbridge pub, beer tasting was definitely in order! - The IPA 'Jaipur' was my particular favourite, it really grew on... Friendly staff, good beer, big beer garden and play area for kids, log fire in the winter, other patrons are always really friendly. You could pick fault with the food but it's not a restaurant, good menu choices for vegetarians. As an overall product as a 'local pub' you simply cannot get better :-)

We came as a group of friends for Sunday lunch today. The roasts were all very disappointing and we had to wait far too long. I had the chicken roast dinner, I was presented with the scraps from a joint, all shredded in my plate. The Yorkshire pudding was like a cake and the mash was bland. The gravy was... More

Nice comfortable but nicely modernised pub, serving very good real ales. The food was excellent - once the bacon came for the 'liver and bacon' ;-)

We visited with our daughter and son-in-law, my mum and my best friend. The food was simple and locally sourced, but was absolutely beautiful. We had the fish and chips, the Steak Pie and the Salmon - all delicious! The atmosphere was relaxed and the staff were delightful. The real ales were a real treat for my husband and sons... More

Lovely pub lunch, perfect for nursing a hangover! Great ales, friendly staff, open fires for the winter and a beer garden for the summer.

Visited The Stag after years of driving past it. Was very impressed, whilst I was too late to order food the beer was excellent and is very much recommended.

Tried this pub during a stop over in Sheffield. There is a good selection of food on the menu. The food we had was tasty, fresh made, a decent price and a good helping. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is also a good range of real ales to pick from. It was busy on a Monday night suggesting... More

Friendly welcome, wooden floors, open fires and real beer; serving classic English food, realistic garden with children's area.
