From 1995-1998 this pub was my local when I was a student. The fact it wasn't really a 'student' pub appealed to me, the locals were always friendly and I could always go in whenever the football was on and I'd know the people there, the landlords etc, and I was there so often that my answer phone message at... Went here with a friend at 6 pm on a midweek night and it seems popular but not too busy. My friend uses a wheel chair and there was plenty of room to move around. A large playground outside means it's used by young families with children. The two members of staff were well presented, pleasant and knowledgeable where the... More

Old style pub with an interesting menu and a very good range of ales. Looks a bit tired. Meals are reasonably priced but not cheap for a pub, example £9 for 3 sausages on mash. Wife's steak pie came but on cutting open it was chicken - did not bother sending back as it would have been wasted/ waiting time... More

We took my Father-in-Law (who is 95) for a celebration meal. The food was excellent and plentiful and served in a friendly and efficient manner. There were five of us and all enjoyed the experience.

Recently found this Pub on a visit to Sheffield (was staying in the Kenwood hall Hotel) This is a nice little traditional pub with lots of choice for the real ale drinker - Beer garden to side of building with a play area at the back, Serves plenty of good quality pub food

Food is good, although limited choice what there is more than enough for a pub. As I am originally from Sheffield this place is a joy, sausage and mash with Hendersons Relish Gravy (this relish is a superior version of Lea & Perrins) is a must; the fishcake spot-on, a potato scallop wrapped in fish. It is a traditional pub,... More

very friendly staff who worked their socks off! Good food but not served too late. Nice to see Hendersons Relish out on the tables.

Visiting on business wandered up the road and found the Stag.Good selection of pump real ales and bottled real ales. Not somewhere I would take, 'she who must be obeyed', but a good place to have a beer and read the paper which I did. If I'm ever back there I will revisit!
