There were 6 in our party, we arrived at 8.00pm and were seated promptly. The only off putting thing was the group of kitchen staff stood outside smoking when we arrived. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. The lamb carpaccio was a revelation, the apple and mint accompaniment set it of beautifully. The rest of our party went for... More

Lunchtime today, going home, where to stop for a light meal? The Prince of Wales, says I, it's on the way. No, says hubby, remember last time. And the time before that. Oh yes, wait an age for anything and have to buy more drink. Maybe it's different now, says I. Let's give it a last chance. In we went... More

Reserved 6 places on a Saturday evening. It was busy. Table ready, good welcome, staff sorted out drinks OK. Menu looked OK. Then we noticed the menu was a mid-week Lunch one with an offer of 2 course for £12 besides the individually priced items. One member of the party queried that and was told it was the right one.... We went here for fathers day lunch - well it was more like late lunch early dinner. We booked a table for 5 prior to arrival, and it was ready on time. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and the bar man was too. We got menus beforehand so we'd be ready to order once seated, the waiter was... More

3 of us dropped into this fab bar/eatery, sharer starter 3 different but equally good mains, and a shared desert. The food was fab and the service matched. Would definitely recommend and return.

We booked in for a meal for their themed "fish friday" and thought the food was of the highest quality. Both the presentation of the dish and favour was both outstanding. Personally I thought it represented superb value for money and would definitely recommend to all my family and friends. The service was extremely friendly and attentive without over doing... More

Visited Sunday evening for dinner with my husband. The place was surprisingly quiet. We were seated quite quickly to our table and enjoyed sitting in the lovely surroundings. While looking through the menu I wanted the superfood salad which came with a meat addition or goats cheese. Being a pregnant vegetarian I won't risk goats cheese. So I asked if... More

Being a fairly regular visitor, whether just for a drink or a meal, we have always enjoyed our time here. There is a good atmosphere and the food and service has always been quite satisfactory. However, our last visit failed to live up to the level we usually expect. We went for a family outing for a Sunday lunch and... More

We went for lunch and some of the food was lovely however my sister was served undercooked fish and chips. We sent it back but they still added it to the bill until we complained. Quite expensive as well.

I drive past this place on my way to and from work and had often wondered what it was like in its current guise. The place has been through many refurbishments over the years, it's current look is stylish but not fussy or formal, comfy armchairs for the pub area and big, homely-looking dining tables and chairs for the restaurant...
