Enjoyable food

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime, restaurant was not busy. Good menu, plenty of choice and lots of seafood/fish dishes too. Lunchtime special also available. Chose the seafood risotto - very good dish, large portion, stuffed full of prawns, octopus, calamari and razor clams, with clams... read more

I went in "dolce" vita yesterday and I was on my own.. Decided to have just a quick pizza and a drink.. I already knew that the restaurant is runned by Greeks but I couldn't imagine would be so poor, food and service either.. I know a lot of italian restaurants runned by strangers but never seen such a pathetic... More

Excellent food and service, friendly, helpful, but not obtrusive. Big choice of traditional Italian pizzas and pasta dishes but we went for their more imaginative main courses (monkfish parcels and pork loin) which were delicious and filling (although perhaps not traditional "Italian home kitchen" dishes.) Decor a little plain but comfortable. Prices on the high side but worth it for... More

I may as well have the word 'money' stamped onto my forehead because I constantly end up spending simply incredible amounts of it practically daily, and barely even notice it leave my account. My charming partner is extremely high up in local authorities and we are fortunate enough to have a higher annual income than most people earn in a... More

We ate here last Friday evening. It was a varied menu with something for everyone, all four of us were happy with our choices and the recommended wine was good. There was a good atmosphere, the restaurant was full and obviously popular. Service was quick and friendly.

This is the best Italian restaurant in Reading. The food is brilliant, presented really nicely, cooked really well using fresh and tasty ingredients. The service is good, even when they are really busy, staff are attentive and welcoming. The balcony is a great place to sit out on a warm summer's evening

This Italian Restaurant appears to be managed by a mixture of Italian and Greek people who are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is really good. In summer there is a balcony which gives added value. There is a range of food from pizza through to specials. Their liver, bacon and onions if superb and their various fish risottos are very... Hidden at the upstairs back of the Kings walk arcade is this little gem of a town centre Italian/Mediterranean place. A lovely big light room with a balcony overlooking the Kennet and the back of Kings Walk (it's much better than that sounds) with very friendly and welcoming staff. It's a big menu place with daily specials and fixed price... More

The food it´s good, the staff it´s ok, but it is really expensive. There were 11 of us, one starter, one main, one glass of wine each and puddings to share... 42pounts each !! We even try to get a free shot and we got one for the birthday girl ;( too bad after we had paid almost 450.

Dolce Vita does great clay oven baked pizzas, imaginative pasta dishes and home made desserts. My personal favourites are the seafood and fish dishes, such as the bouillabaisse (not strictly Italian I know). The Specials menu never disappoints. The service is always friendly but can be slow depending on how busy it is. For Friday and Saturday nights, make sure... More
