Very nice lunch!

This was my second time at L'Ortolan, last year we went there for a birthday dinner and it was delicious. This time we decided to go for French Wine Lunch for 37£ pp and were not disappointed. The only thing from the set menu which I was not that fond of was a lemon tart - in general I love... read more

Had lunch with my wife to celebrate the submission of her PhD. While this was certainly the most 'resource-intensive' lunch we ever had, it was very much worth it. We started in the sun room with cocktails and selected our menus and wine (great recommendation from the sommelier). We were then guided to the restaurant, where everything including the filling... Enjoyed another fabulous lunch at L'Ortolan. Every course was brilliant, probably my best experience to date, although it is always of a very high standard. They do fish so well and my dessert was heavenly. The cheese trolley is worth having as an extra course between two because it's so good. The sommelier is friendly, enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable. I... More

Two of us visited tonight and we both selected the Chef's secret ten course with paired wines. Firstly the venue is truly lovely, then the service is second to none and the food is to die for. Wines were wonderful. 10/10 Very highly recommended.

Had lunch on Saturday on the chefs table. What an experience. This was a very busy service but that didn't detract from the high quality food and service that we received. Each dish was intense in flavour, subtle where required, well balanced and immaculately presented. The attention to detail by all the staff was a credit to the restaurant. I... More

What a wonderful treat. The setting is a fantastic old vicarage (enhanced by lovely spring sunshine) and well maintained gardens. The decor inside is sort of a modern Art Deco and well presented throughout. The service was excellent - attentive but not in-your-face and clearly passionate and knowledgable about both the food and wine on offer. The food, as you... More

Our children took us to lunch here for our Christmas present. It was a wonderful occasion. The food was superb, beautifully served, with a different taste for every mouthful.
