Worth the hype

A really good fine dining restaurant in Reading. The service was great, attentive but not overbearing. The food certainly met the grade too, the monkfish and sweet potato was a perfect dish. I'll be returning!

So I've been to LSB lots of times over the years. I've never had a bad meal. It's quite small, not cramped.... It's very informal yet offers wonderful food and attentive service. Definitely worth a visit.

Greeting, decor and lighting just right, contemporary. Three tables for two fairly close together made for a happy, friendly atmosphere because we all joined in a conversation but this could have a downside if the couple next to you were miserable! Good choice menu, when I wanted to slightly change a dish, this was well received and no problem.Staff enquired if meal was... More

I came here with my boyfriend and we asked to sit outside, by the river. The location is really nice and at night gets even better. Food was good, list of drink plenty of excellent wines. As last but not least...superb service!

Having lived in Reading for 12 years, we had always said we must visit. We waited until our last month before we moved out of the area...and what a mistake! Perfect Service, perfect food and as it was prior to 7.30pm, a very reasonable Bill at the end! We will now be coming back, more often, from further away. A... More

The service and customer care couldn't have been better. Friendly attentive but not over-familiar. Just right. Two of us arrived early and they took great care of us. Great table - outside on a scorching hot day. In the shade. Food was very, very good indeed. Fixed price lunch menu offers great choice and is inventively different from similar offerings elsewhere.... More

As a family of 6 it's sometimes difficult to find somewhere to eat that all the family will enjoy including the youngest of 2. The Staff were very warm and welcoming and we were shown straight to an available table. Menus were provided and any questions answered. Food was fabulous and was brought out in a reasonable time. I would... More

Had lunch here with (grown up) family. Interior is very tasteful and although it is right in the middle of the shopping area it feels secluded when you are inside. Extensive, tempting menu with some unusual dishes on it. Nice wine list. The food was delicious and good value (they have a lunchtime specials menu). The service was also excellent... More

Great location in central Reading overlooking the canal. In an old building nicely decorated, with paintings on the wall for sale. For lunch, the offer was a la carte, or a choice of starters, mains and deserts from a fixed price menu. Good tasty starters and also nice tasty mains. All well presented. However, at times there was the sensation... More

We were here to celebrate my partner's birthday. I had the mackerel with chorizo and tomato ragu. The mackerel was cooked to perfection. The ragu gave it a nice contrast and the parley leaves gave it freshness. I did not taste any chorizo. We both had the pork belly seasoned with lemon grass and served with pakchoi and what seems...
