We had two nights in Reading on our recent trip to England and in a town filled with mostly chain restaurants we were surprised to find this gem. We had a great table right on the canal and enjoyed friendly efficient service. Nice atmosphere for having a conversation. From appetizer to entree and right on to dessert, we enjoyed one... More

We entered at midday for a quick lunch expecting a lovely meal. The restaurant was empty because it had only just started serving. Having just a main and dessert took 1.5 hours - unfortunately the food was distinctly average and just took too long to come. We did say to waiter that the pudding was over cooked (black rather than... More

Came here with my daughter and my parents so covering three generations and we all came away very satisfied. Excellent choice for everyone. Considerate staff, for example, showing my mother to a loo close by rather than climbing loads of stairs. Slightly off the Oracle shopping centre where a lot of the restaurants seem to be and better for it.... More

After living in Reading for almost 4 years, I worked up the courage to have dinner there, for a special occasion, my first year anniversary. Well, couldn't have had a better choice for the celebration. Everything was very well cooked, and the desserts were particularly great.

Consistently good and dependable. A place you can recommend and be assured that whoever you recommend this place to will have their expectations met in full.

It's a brasserie but even when there are spare tables available you're made to feel like you're doing them a favour. Working in Reading I've used this a few times. The ambience and food are perfectly acceptable, not outstanding.

The food, the staff, the location, the decor, and the ambience all make this one of Reading's best restaurants. It's been around for more than a decade and it's lost none of its quality. In fact, like a fine wine, it just gets better and better. Wonderful Sunday Roast. Fabulous menu. Terrific food. Great experience all round.

From the friendly greeting through to the excellent service and great food, this was a chilled and relaxing place to have dinner. The atmosphere is great with tables not on top of each other. Our waitress was friendly and informed, recommending a nice bottle of Portuguese wine for us. We had their set menu at £16.00 for two courses. I... More

A lovely meal on a warm evening so the balcony was open. Squid to start and rump lamb followed by a great selection of cheeses. Great value for the quality and service
