We have been going to Pepe Sale a couple of times per year for some time now. Visited again yesterday for a lunch on Saturday and can report that the food - a mixture of the day's specials and items from the regular a la carte menu - were all excellent. All accompanied by great service from Marco and the... More

Among other things, this restaurant is geared to providing pre-theatre meals for those going on to the Hexagon. Although not having booked, we had a pleasant table and the pre-show special menu, which was priced reasonably at £13.50 for 2 courses. The food was good and the service was quite swift and enabled us to have a meal and go... More

This was our first visit to the Hexagon for probably around 20 years so we needed to find somewhere for a pre-theatre meal. As my wife is a wheelchair user it was important that we chose somewhere that was close to the Hexagon and easily accessible from it. Based on its proximity and good TA reviews, plus our liking for... More

This restaurant may be a little more pricey than others but you definitely get what you pay for. My partner and I have eaten here regularly and never been disappointed. The Pinot Grigio Santa Margharita is very reasonably priced and not found in many run of the mill Italian eateries. The calves liver is melt in the mouth. Give this... More

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we came to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had reserved a table for 8:30. On arrival at 8:15 we confirmed our reservation and were immediately hurried to a table in the front window, and with what must have been the hardest chair I have ever sat on in a restaurant. No... Went on a Friday night to celebrate my 50th birthday with friends. Loved the feel of this restaurant immediately and we were greeted & made to feel welcome by the staff. They were very accommodating and fitted in an extra seat at our table of 9 to make it a table for 10 on what was a very busy evening.... More

Toni and marco made us very welcome as usual. Great food , I had the sea bass which was superb and the others attacked the fillet steak. The ladies even managed desert. The restaurant was very busy and had a great atmosphere , the service was very good. Overall last to leave which says all!

Back again after a few years of absence to this Italian-Sardinian restaurant. The magic, the ambiance, the service and Tony the owner, were just perfect, but the food was just brilliant. The chef uses only fresh ingredients, tasty, colourful, with a little twist of the isle of Sardinia. We arrived early so waited for the suckling piglet to finish cooking... More

Great service and food. Decor and location are not ideal, but this is easily in the top 5 restaurants in reading.
