I had been looking for a higher end restaurant to take my Fiancé's family when they visited, several places near us serve great food but are just run of the mill pub places. As soon as we walked in the place had a nice atmosphere and is nice and bright. Staff were all friendly and even accommodated a requested for... More

A family evening to celebrate a birthday and engagement was supposed to culminate in an end of evening drink at The Spring Inn. We had visited the pub before and had a nice experience in the summer of 2014 however when it's cold and all the door are closed the kitchen extraction seems to pump into the bar making it... More

This is a great place, friendly service and really nice atmosphere. The devour is great and the food is good. My only issue was the chips are a bit rubbery on the outside and mushy in the middle. Otherwise it was nice

A number of issues that caused our night to be ruined. - served my 7 month pregnant wife 250ml of white wine in a spritzer when she asked for a lemonade with a splash of white wine. She only realised when the bill came and not only was a health hazard she was then over the limit to drive home... More

This is a delighful setting on a sunny day and one can eat and drink at well-spaced tables in the large garden - where I enjoyed a very good glass of red wine after my lunch. I had an excellent fish pie, good fish perfectly cooked and a sensible quantity of potato mash, and found all the staff willing and... More

Another brilliant experience. This time a Sunday lunch with old friends. The food was superb, 2 prawn cocktails, 1 brie and avocado salad and a soup, butternut squash, no complaints on the starters. All 4 of us had the Sunday roast beef, asked how we'd like it cooked, we all liked it different, from medium to very rare! This was... More

We have always enjoyed the food here before but this time the menu seemed to have been written by someone with a flair for the overstatement. I had "Posh chicken and stuffing" and my husband had the fish and chips with mushy peas. When my chicken came it was just pieces of chicken on the bone stacked on top of... More

We returned for lunch after being here in February 2015. This time with different friends who were also mightily impressed with the portions, flavours and service. Value for money is very good and we could not fault anything. The skate wings special with a brown shrimp sauce were great, ox cheek different but rich as it should be, the salmon... More
