You will easily find The Spring Inn on the Bath Road just a few minutes drive from Junction 12 of the M4 and close to Reading, Theale and Pangbourne. Now re-opened with a new management team and having benefited from interior decoration and outside landscaping, The Spring Inn is at the heart of the Sulhamstead community and overlooks the Sulhamstead and Ufton Cricket Club. Managed by the same team as highly successful gastropub The George at Wraysbury, there are plenty of culinary delights and a wide range of local, regional and international wines, beers and ales for residents of Sulhamstead and the surrounding area to enjoy. The Spring Inn serves a weekly Sunday roast as well as lunch and supper daily. With a wealth of culinary experience our Chefs have succeeded in sourcing the finest ingredients with preference to local suppliers whilst creating a unique menu. Our team of passionate chefs prepare food that when presented to our visitors delivers returns of delight that makes it evident they are all, without exception, passionate, creative and caring about their cooking and indeed, presentation. With plenty of garden space including a terrace area and a large car park now is the time we can enjoy our British summer. On rainy days the interior is inviting to ensure everyone has plenty of room to enjoy their meal or relax around the bar. The Spring Inn is fully stocked with local, regional and international beers and ales as well as old and new world wines, a wide range of spirits, liqueurs as well as top shelf whiskeys ports & pudding wines. Over the years this pub has been through a number of different ownerships / incarnations. Whoever is running it now is doing something right. Lunchtime, midweek and the car park was almost full. Restaurant was busy but the service was prompt and attentive. Food was mainly "pub favourites" but none-the-less enjoyable and all washed down with a decent pint.

We chose to have lunch at this delightful restaurant to celebrate our ruby wedding which happened to fall on a warm, sunny Sunday. Our upstairs table was was by an open window, a refreshing change from the usual hot, muggy airless dining experiences. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and very good service. Will definitely visit again.

We called in on the off chance for dinner and although the restaurant was very busy a table was quickly found for us. The food was good, well cooked and presented although service was sometimes a little slow (consequence of popularity?). Nice range of well kept beers and wines.

I was a little worried about the fact that when I booked it earlier in the afternoon that they had a party of 24 and that this may impact on our evening out, it did not. I had checked The Spring Inn out on ‘tripadvisor’ first (see below). A lovely evening, nice atmosphere, a little noisy but really ‘friendly’ and... More

We have not been here for years after several changes of ownership and management. We tried it again recently and were pleased we did. The young lady serving us was exceptionally good and went out of her way to meet our requirements. The food was good, albeit with a bit of a delay, although not unacceptable. It can be a... More

After being seated and served our drinks order very promptly, we were off to a great start on a lovely Tuesday evening as a table of 4. Once the starters had been cleared, we then started to realise that the service was slowing down. We had a long wait for our mains to come out, had to chase for dessert... More

So on 21st July, we went out to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. We had a table booked for 6:00, we were late so they were very accommodating in that respect. The beginning of our meal was faultless. Great food, drink and the service was really good. The same for our main... That was until we finished. We waited at least... More

Bar staff were very friendly, starters were amazing but mains were well below average. We had lamb shank - chewy and rib eye with a side of chips that were clearly re-heated. A nice evening but not quite what we were hoping for

I visited for lunch with some work colleagues and we all had wonderful meals. The service was good and the restaurant is lovely. Some of the meals are pricey, however the food is delicious. The sandwiches are really good value, nice thick bread and they don't skimp on the filling. I had chicken with melted cheese, avocado and lettuce which... More

It seemed a bit expensive at £32 a head for beers, burgers or fish & chips and puddings. The service wasn't great and it was VERY noisy. Much better food, value and service can be found elsewhere nearby.
