Yummy food, relaxed environment

The global cafe has a very relaxed atmosphere. The food itself is basic and very tasty. I have been here twice for the lunch special, £5.95 comprises 2 vegetarian dishes and Ethiopian bread or I had rice both times and find it a satisfying meal. This is not high end dining so don't expect anything... read more

Stopped here when visiting the area on business, very comfortable atmosphere, cheap but tasty food. Recommend to anyone! My trip was made much nicer thanks to a brand new cheap nearby car park on Church Street, RG1 2SQ

The place seems to be a meeting place for the 'elevated' and 'high' people as there is an eclectic art display. Variety of beers and drinks-Good Staff seems to be very ad hoc so not everyone knows everything, which could be challenging... I had to keep one eye at the kitchen door so I could guide my food to my... More

Food is honest, very good value for money and packed full of flavour; clean plates all round. Service was fantastic especially considering we were a large group. The atmosphere is relaxed. I thank Tutu and staff for a wonderful evening ;-)

Went with high expectations based on reviews. Nice atmosphere with casual tables and sofas, slightly bohemian. Family ordered various dishes and all disappointing on flavour. The traditional flat bread was cold, dry and tasted of vinegar. I had a beef dish, and I've never eaten such tough meat - it was in small cubes and you could barely get the... More

Not for those who want fine dining but an absolute gem of a place if your adventurous and like something a bit different. A few reviews on here of being over priced, however I think you need to consider the fresh home cooked food and laid back atmosphere, which deserve the prices charged I'd say. They sell different bottled beers,... More

I'd never had Ethiopian food before and thought this was great - very tasty and filling. The food is served in the RISC cafe (Reading International Support Centre). I love the place because it's vibrant, friendly, relaxed and diverse. However if you are looking for a posh night out I wouldn't come here - this is an informal, cheerful kind... More

Hi, I have eaten several times at this lovely Ethiopian restaurant in Reading, Berkshire. My home town is Slough, which is not too far away, and I am often in Reading. There is a lovely Ethiopian lady called Tutu Melaku, who does the cooking, and she does it in traditional Ethiopian style. The food is certainly interesting, and flavoursome. I... More
