I liked the eclectic mix of people, there was entertainment every night, very good original food and good service.

I visit The Global Cafe on an infrequent basis for the fortnightly poetry slams and writing workshops hosted there. They have a good atmosphere and a friendly serving staff; and everything is fair trade (though, naturally, this makes everything more expensive). The food menu is limited: you basically get a choice of five options (four of which are vegetarian, by... More

My wife and I visited here after reading the trip advisor reviews, we were both underwhelmed with what we experienced apart from the cosy atmosphere of the place. We ordered a selection/mixture of meat and vegetarian dishes and all were quite bland, we were expecting to be excited by the different spices and tastes but we were very disappointed. At... More

A group of us dined here on a Saturday night. Because the were so many of us, the restaurant allowed us to have the buffet menu which was very reasonable at £10 per head and the food was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and Tutu even came out to thank us for visiting which I thought was a... More

I have been here on a couple of occasions and have been greatly impressed by the unique blend of food, atmosphere, live music and community feel about the place. When I am in Reading I always aim for this place rather than the big chain places in the Oracle. Also a great selection of African bottled beers.

Had great service an wonderful staff. This place was totally relaxed and was great for all age groups. 18 to 80 will have a great time especially if you like travel and good conversation. If you are lucky enough, you will meet Charlotte behind the bar and if so, one of her amazing Baileys Coffee's is not to be missed.

Ethiopian food has never been my favorite, but Tutu's isn't bad. I just couldn't stand the smell -- maybe it was goat? Either way, it was pretty overwhelming, and it made trying to have a vegan meal a bit unpleasant.

Came here for a conference party... slightly unusual place to hold one, but very glad they did. The food was unexpected and delicious; well, as long as you ate the Ethiopian food, one colleague's burger and chips did not look very inspiring. You can have one big portion of food or mix 3 for roughly the same price; 3 seems... More

I've visited here several times and always enjoyed the unique food. I can't really compare it to anything else as sadly there aren't many Ethiopian restaurants around! The menu is a little confusing but with the platters you essentially get a type of sour pancake topped with a spicy meat stew and a couple of veggie dishes. The cajun wedges... More

This restaurant offers interesting food. The restaurant does have a uni student type of feel, but don't let that deter you. The staff are a friendly bunch and there is good seating. There are chairs/tables and lounging type sofas The restaurant has a casual feel which I found nice. The food was ok, I did struggle with the menu to... More
