Reasonable value and choice and this comment is submitted having eaten in perhaps too many IHG hotels and other mid range hotels.

Ate here whilst staying at hotel, limited menu, but great value. Service was excellent. Lovely views. Can't fault.

We had a wonderful afternoon on Sunday - celebrating Mother's Day. A mini cruise along the River Thames, past some lovely countryside, was followed by afternoon tea - in the traditional way. Lovely selection of sandwiches, pastries and scones. The staff were great - attentive and friendly without being overbearing. It was a really lovely afternoon - must do it... More

This is a lovely venue, overlooking the Thames. Our first choice would have been their afternoon tea, but this was not available, so we went for tea and cakes instead. The choice of teas was very good, but the choice of cakes very limited. Service was very friendly.

The Forebury hotel was fully booked and the Whittington barge had moved away from Reading bridge. The Crown Plaza was nearby and we took a chance. We arrived after 3.00 pm and... More

Went there for a works Christmas meal and can honestly say that my sons school Christmas lunch was of better quality. The turkey was plastic and the food was cold, the starter had no taste ( and I tried all 3 on offer) and I have tasted better desserts from a supermarket where you get the whole thing for £1....
