Friendly hospitable pub. Good carvery, with selection of four roasts on offer today plus you could chose home made pie or half a roast chicken all very well cooked. Well worth a visit if you like good British food at a price that anyone could afford.I wish we lived nearer so that I could try them again

This has become like our local, and I look forward to eating here! The staff are all so very polite! A place wit very great atmosphere, a great vibe and very reasonably prices food for the choice you have. Go on a Sunday and will be a little bit more in price, but that makes up for the weekday prices!!... More

Five of us visited today including a one year old. The carvery was excellent with plenty of options and the price was good. The baby had his own plate which was free. No waiting and attentive friendly staff made this an enjoyable experience.

Just popped in to have evening meal with friends and found a queue to get a ticket was not offered a mans meals or King size as they call it. For the area this place offers an average carvery that was not hot enough however the roast potatoes were ok and did not seem to have been dropped into the... More

Been to the carvery a few times, so when coming back to reading decided to go again. Sitting down having a lovely meal with my partner when the bouncer on the door decided to let kids from outside to trick & treat inside the pub. They started to clime over chairs, swing on the bars in the restaurant. There was... More

This restaurant is in between Reading town centre and the M4 (junction 11). It is fairly large with an adequate car park. Don’t go on match days. I went here with a group of friends to have a Sunday roast, the food is slightly better than average. There was plenty of it and it was quite cheap. There wasn’t anything... More

Went with family to have the carvery on a Monday evening. Food is alright, at very good value. Premises look a bit untidy. Staff are nice but not always quick.

We usually opt for the Toby carvery as we didn't know this place was here and in so glad we found it. It was relaxed and we were not made to feel rushed as in the Toby. The food was tasty and the crackling was delicious. The price was fantastic and it's ideally located next to a travellodge. Highly recommended.

We had breakfast here, which was cheap and cheerful. (Buffet £3.99) It is a buffet style and was very tasty. The sausages were not great quality, but it was lovely bacon and everything was fresh.(hash browns, beans, fried and scrambled egg, fried bread ) The staff were also very polite and helpful. We would eat there again.
