This cafe is my first choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch in Jericho. The food is always of a great standard with decent size portions, but try to save room for one of the delicious cakes! Prices are reasonable too. The upstairs and outside are lovely but often very crowded due to it's popularity. There is additional seating downstairs. The... More

We came here based on a review from Trip Advisor. I ordered the "Bacon & Avocado Salad" for £8.95 (over $15 USD). I had to do some digging to find any bacon OR avocado in this rather small salad. I thought there was no avocado at all, but then my friend spotted a tiny piece about the size of a... More

I strongly suspect it is our chef's brain which is pea-sized, rather than the avocado :-) We put half a large avocado in each salad, along with the baby gem lettuce, tomato, cucumber, croutons, crispy bacon, parmesan shavings and a poached free-range egg. Except that one of our chefs has been known to forget to put in the avocado entirely..... More

We went to the Jericho Cafe every morning for breakfast, when we stayed locally. The food was very good, the service quick and the atmosphere was congenial. On a fine day, you can sit outside, too.

Food always looks delicious but I mainly have tea. Coffee occasionally too weak even for me. Location is in the middle of Jericho and open late (9ish) Very clean

Watch this space - we're changing our cup sizes in the next couple of weeks and will be offering a regular and a large size. Or you could always try our flat white, that's a stronger coffee.. We'll get it right next time! More

Jericho was once Oxford's working class district, and the Jericho cafe would gave been a genuine caff. Now it's a clean and tidy cafe for posh students and academics. To a soundtrack of the Stones - ironically: 'you can't always get what you want' I was ripped off £7.65 for a bacon and sausage bap, more bap than filling, and... More

You're absolutely right, students were once impoverished, the academics only marginally less so. And Jericho WAS once a working class district, we remember it well. However, you only have to spend a couple of minutes at the window of our neighbouring estate agent (used to be a launderette, much more useful for washing chef's whites), to see that this is... More

The Jericho Cafe is a real institution, a well loved and established cafe/restaurant in the heart of buzzing Jericho, sharing a stretch road surrounded by other well known and loved eateries. To my shame however I had never visited for food, just a very quick coffee a long while ago. I was impressed by the friendly welcome and the atmosphere... More

Thank you so much for your very kind, and much appreciated, review. Such positive feedback is what keeps us going after all these years, through the ups and downs. As my husband likes to say 'it's not easy every day' (that sounds better in French), but we continue to work at improving where needed whilst maintaining that special Jericho Cafe... More

When we arrived one of the staff was leaving, however, seeing a short queue, he promptly took off his coat and served two people before he left. Victoria sponge had buttercream, not fresh cream, but was still delicious, without being too sweet. Toilets were clean. Nice view out of the windo, friendly atmosphere. Plan another trip to try the wider... More

The cakes look so delicious as you walk past. however, we were very disappointed all three times we went. We tried a number of different cakes and they were all hard and dry. The cream in the Victoria sponge was not fresh and the chocolate cupcakes were stale. Such a shame. Great location.

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy our cakes on your recent visit. Bar the cupcakes which are made by local mums Julia and Linda of Happy Cakes, our cakes are all freshly baked, on the premises on a daily basis. It is rare that any of our cakes have a chance to dry out as they sell so very quickly! We... More

Se had an breakfast which was good but they could put more beans. We had with in an caffe latte which was good and green tea which was fine. Then we tried a fresh orange juice and spiced chai latte and both were really good. But they could have bigger cups for coffe. We still did enjoy it
