Trendy pleasant cafe in Jericho Oxford

The Jericho area of Oxford has a pleasant village like feel, just outside the main areas of the city. This cafe is pleasant and a little trendy but nice menu and good coffee. Staff are pleasant and it has a laid back atmosphere...well worth a visit if you look just outside City centre.

I've given up on this place. Jericho cafe has a bit of a reputation of being been pretty cool and a place to be but I just don't get it. The prices are Jericho prices but with awful food. I ordered one sausage melt and one bacon and Brie melt which retail at over £5.50 each (melt generally and should... More

Hi 'Ben'. Our Cumberland sausage, Brie and caramelised red onion marmalade melt, which is we red with a salad garnish, is one of our best sellers and even earned us a very complimentary mention in The Sunday Times a couple of years ago. I'm sorry it was not to your taste, perhaps you were expecting a panini, which is a... More

I had found the café accidently when visiting the florist up the road for my daughters wedding. Revisited today and really enjoyed the café breakfast. The breakfast was unbelievably hot and freshly cooked. We were fortunate to sit upstairs and although the coffee was good it was not outstanding. However it was a great place to have breakfast and read... More

Yeh a nice place to sit and mull - food looked good but we just had a coffee. Upstairs is great. Downstairs a bit echo-ing and if there are noisy people in (like lots of coffee shops) it can be quite deafening. Would return though.

Having recently returned to Germany after a 6 month stint in Oxford, I find one of the things I miss the most is this lovely little cafe. The friendly staff and charming owners made my stay in Oxford a very enjoyable one. So much so that I never missed to start a day at The Jericho Cafe. The cafe is... More

Great neighbourly place for breakfasts, light lunches and coffee.  And good quality coffee -- a most appreciated rarity.  No culinary marvels here but a reliability of adequate quality.  My only complaint is their dreary and dry cakes.  They have them supplied by two local mommies with a part-time baking business. As much as I want to support working mommies everywhere,... More

I'm sorry you don't like our cakes. Julia Atkinson, local mummy and all round rather lovely person, has been running her very successful baking business 'Happy Cakes' for several years now and supplies many other local independent businesses as well as having her own cupcake trike in the City Centre. 'Happy cakes' do not supply all of our cakes, in... More

A beautifully located little cafe, with a fantastic interior. It has a wide range of options available, from cake to a full cooked breakfast. Really good, wholesome food. Full of lovely goodness. Bit expensive, but the quality of the food is really good. The downstairs area is nice and relaxed, with a lot of students choosing to take their coffee... More

Living locally as we do, The Jericho Cafe is one of our favourite haunts. A great all-rounder whether you're looking for a nicely cooked full English, (I would agree with previous reviewer that the poached eggs are to die for), your morning coffee and read of the newspaper or a pre-cinema meal. The staff are unfailingly friendly and polite and... More

We took our toddler for an afternoon hot chocolate and were quite disappointed by the selection of cakes given how great the reviews are... maybe our timing was bad bad everything just looked a little bit 'sad'. We ended up going for a cup cake and a brownie. The cup cake was dry and the brownie portion a tad stingy.... More

We're very sorry you didn't enjoy your cakes. We have had a couple of reports recently that the quality of the cakes, in particular the cupcakes, has declined somewhat of late and we are taking steps to ensure that future quality will not disappoint. We hope you'll try us again soon and be better impressed! More
