Poppadoms and sauces were just above average. Vindaloo was good and spicy. G&T was on the watered-down side and the vegetable dishes were just slightly above average. Beyond this, the place did not look all that clean and the service was perfunctory at best.

I was recommended this place by the hotel concierge and went with a group of colleagues. On arrival, the restaurant doesn't really look like a traditional curry place. The dark colours and mock-indian decorations are clealy absent - which is a relief. The place resembles a modern cafe - the interior is bright and pretty basic, the walls adorned with... More

Not many diners will return after the kind of unhappy experience my daughter and I had at Chutney's today. We have been customers of the St. Michael's Street restaurant for many years. I have been returning since my time in the police in the early eighties when this fine place was on my beat. Having had a bland array of... More

Warm welcome. Great menu with lots of choices. Took vegetarian menu. Too much food to eat! So they offered me a welcome doggy bag. Original great tasting dishes.

As you can guess we were celebrating - but this certainly was an excellent choice for fresh Indian Cuisine. OK as previous reviews say, ambiance is fairly basic and we had to queue for a table but this is more than made up for by the friendly staff and outstanding food. Check out the crisp (not dripping in oil) poppadoms... More

Was very busy and buzzing on a Friday evening but got a table for two quite quickly. Very extensive menu, and reasonably priced, good Indian lager too. Very enjoyable meal, top of the list for options in central Oxford

A very extensive menu with lots of vegetarian options. You feel the food is actually cooked with fresh ingredients and pastes rather than the more general "cook in sauce" dishes of many indian restaurants. The ambiance is more cafe than restaurant but the presentation of the food is also fresh and bright. Price is slightly higher than average but food... More

We stumbled upon this gem by accident. A group of us needed to eat early, and as one of our party was a veggie, Indian food seemed a very wise option. We were welcomed warmly and it wasn't long before it started filling up. The menu was wide and especially good for veggies and non red meat eaters. When it... More

Food was very good. The Chicken Vindaloo was great. Portions were generous and the service was hospitable.

Ate here yesterday with a group of friends . The place was very busy when we arrived and it took a while to get any service . Even when the place started thinning out the service didn't really improve . The food was average and some dishes seemed expensive for what was provided . It didn't help that we had... More
