Visiting my daughter at University here we had been on our feet all morning and were undecided where to eat. It was pure chance that we went to Chutney's but we were glad we did, We had the £5.95 a head menu both having vegetable samosa's, chicken korma, rice, salad and naan bread with a glass of water each. The... More

We were allocated a table quickly but had to wait to order drinks. The waiter was interested about where we were from and was very polite. He offered advice on my choice of curry as it was something I hadn't had before. Drinks were a little expensive but the food made up for it as it was excellent and there... More

Myself and my partner went to this so called 'indian restaurant' which is actually owned by Bangladeshis and specialise more in Bengali dishes. We were promptly seated despite not having a reservation. We were very much looking forward to our starters and main food as it looked appealing on the menu. We had poppadoms with a range of chutneys to... More

We are frequent Indian restauranters and on our first visit to Oxford happened to stumble upon Chutneys by chance! Starters were excellent and plentiful, main courses were beautiful, tasty, spicy and exactly as described. Staff weren't friendly but ok, We would certainly return

We went here on a Friday evening. From outside it looked nice, and the menu was reasonably priced. When we got inside, I was disappointed with the atmosphere and it was quite noisy, and the decor was very basic. We were hungry, so we decided to give it a go. We were pleasantly surprised with the food, it was very... More

We popped into Chutney's with our student daughter for a quick meal as she had an urgent essay to write! The café is not terribly inviting - bright lights and rather clinical - with little atmosphere. The tables are bare formica and the chairs are similar. No tablecloths and no ceremony. But actually the food is not bad. We started... More

Chutney's is an Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant dressed up in brasserie style, all now rather faded. The waiters were a mixture of scruffy and smart. The food was OK, but didn't live up to the excitement in the menu. Nothing to complain about (except the price of coke – £2.10 for a tiny glass), nothing to praise. The place needs redecorating and... More
