This Thai restaurant is tucked down a little alley off of the High Street. The alley isn't particularly inviting, but keep on going as the restaurant is very good. The building is very old and still has many of the original features. I found the food to be very tasty and authentic, although I suspect that some of the dishes... More

Brilliant. Yes superb food. Tasty and divine. The flavours are wonderful and the restaurant truly authentic. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the old Tudor building creates a superb ambience.

I have been visiting the above for over ten years. I go three to four times a year as I like to look forward to it and not spoil it by visiting regularly. This is the best Thai food i have ever eaten in fact I rarely eat in other Thai restaurants despite it being my favourite food in the... More

I have been going to this place for the last 14 years (yes, 14 years!!!), mostly for dinner, some times with family, more recently with friends. Love the food and love the atmosphere. Always feel welcome, the fish in banana leaf is to die for, the vegetables in oyster sauce delectable. The fact that we keep going back says it... More

Been there twice once in 2006 and again 2008. Once with my wife and again with friends. Both are memorable experiences. First off, the entrance is a narrow lane that reminds the crowded Thai cities we have visited. The atmos / lighting were perfect as can be seen in the pics. When we visit ethnic restaurants the first thing we... More

Great menu which doesn't disappoint when the food arrives, high quality and very tasty Thai food served in a great environment (slightly crooked, old wooden beamed house) hidden away down one of Oxford's historic alleyways. Have been back numerous times for many years and yet to have a bad meal or experience. Highly recommended.

A lovely old wooden beamed house down an alleyway off the High Street in Oxford, this was a wonderful find for us. booking is recommended and we only got in at 7.30 because we agreed one hour would be sufficient for us. Accordingly we kept it simple and all had the same starter and main. but what main and starter... More

I am a fan of Thai food, and Chiang Mai has been the best Thai I have eaten! The food was pricey, but definitely worth it. Wait staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes. I would go back again in a heartbeat.

Due to the good reviews of this Thai restaurant we decided to give it a try and came away happy with our meal. We started with crispy chicken wings from the specials menu which were very tasty and hot (chilli hot!). We also had a papaya salad which was delicious. If you've never tried one then give it blast. It's... More
