A must-visit place in Oxford for locals and tourists alike!

When I lived in Oxford, we used to go to this place for lunch at least once a week. Their pork dumplings are AMAZING, and the coconut rice can be addictive. Their prices reflect the quality and flavor of their food, plus they have a very affordable lunch menu. The lady who runs the restaurant is... read more

Chiang Mai Kitchen is my local and I visit nearly every week. It is the best thai in the town and one of the best I had out of Thailand. Try green papaya salad and red thai curry with lichees and pineapple. Delicious!!! Thank you Margaret and the team for being so welcoming and friendly! M&M

The food here is really good - wish I could say the same of the 'service'. Friends who I had not seen for several decades were coming to Oxford and asked me to book a table at a Thai restaurant. I phoned to book and was not told that the table would be available for a limited time period. We... More

We hadn't been to Chiang Mai Kitchen for quite a few years, so my partner decided he'd like to go there for his birthday meal. Unfortunately it didn't live up to its previous excellent reputation. I had sea bass, which was a little over cooked and dry and the noodles were one congealed lump. My partner's meal was ok and... More

We hadn't booked! It was Bank Holiday weekend! But they fitted us in and managed to serve us within the hour! We are terribly boring and like what we know! Mixed starters, green curry (chicken) and prawn pad Thai with sticky rice. The food was pleasant enough. Hubbies beer was Thai so fine, my Sauvignon Blanc was tasteless. Overall it... More

Ollie's (by far the best Thai in Oxford) was closed on Monday so we booked Chaing Mai after looking at Trip Advisor and seeing a comment that it was as good as Ollie's. It isn't. It is convenient, the staff were very pleasant and the food was ok but geared to western tastes - 'typical' sauces, fried and battered (though... More

My husband and I return to this restaurant again and again, and I have to say it is often one of our motivations for returning to Oxford. The restaurant itself has a wonderful ambience; it is perfect if you are looking to have a romantic meal, just the two of you, or a chat or catch-up with close friends. The... More

We had the calamari starter ... It was good though slightly sweet , my partner had the fried vermicelli ...again very sweet. I ordered the special fried rice... Requested no pineapple and no raisins. The food was delivered really quick... My rice was tasty but served in pineapple!! Overall okay food.

Just an average place, serving average food, with average service, nothing to write home about, much nicer Thai places to eat in Oxford

The best Thai food I have eaten outside Thailand. Yes, it's a little pricey but my God it's worth it. Very helpful staff. Excellent papaya salad.
