We used to live in Oxford and this was our favourite Thai restaurant at the time. I just had the opportunity to return for a day and therefore went back to see if it was still as excellent as a few years ago. I was not disappointed. The food is superb and the beautiful historic building is a perfect setting.

Been coming here for about 15 years now and always found it reliably delicious. Tasty, light, well presented food in a wonderful old building and pleasant staff.

The restaurant is located in a small alleyway right off High street (close to Cornmarket street) and may be tricky to find. They had a few good vegetarian choices. Thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom soup. Also had a vegetarian Pad Thai and a red curry.

Having been introduced to this restaurant a couple of years ago by friends I now often drive from Cirencester (about an hour) to eat here. The food is excellent and unlike many poor quality Thai restaurants (such as in my area) they have papaya salad on the menu. If you want a recommendation I would have the beef massaman curry... One of the reasons I would never pick a restaurant on the basis of its tripadvisor rating: Chiang Mai Kitchen is a great place for dinner, yet scores below places where you can have a nice coffee but would never go for dinner. At Chiang Mai you can have an informal meal or a romantic dinner or a meal for... More

Really good Thai food in Oxford, unfortunately always very busy. Reserve in advance or try Angrid Thai.

On first thought, why go to a Thai restaurant in Oxford ! But glad we did, the dishes were really authentic Thai! The squid with basil and pork with fresh chilli and basil were terrific ! Went back for a second and a third time within 10 days and would definitely go again. The downside is of course the crowd... More

The food was well cooked and seasoned, even using fresh Thai aubergines in my curry. Decent portions, but the restaurant is very hectic and cramped. If you want a peaceful/leisurely/romantic meal, this is not the place for you. However the food is good by UK thai standards.

I've enjoyed my dinner there tonight with fried rice with mixed vegetables and red curry pork with long bean. The restaurant atmosphere is cozy too with friendly staffs, toilets and warm feeling while having the meal there. You should have a try here as the price is reasonable as well.

Title says it all. Slightly cramped seating and service a tad slow. On arrival tasty, fresh and fragment. £100+ for 2 adults and 2 kids with limited alcohol though is on the pricey side for me.
