Our 2013 transformation remains loyal to Gee’s traditions of providing quality food & service in the most beautiful restaurant in Oxford. Whether flooded with mid-morning sunlight or under Oxford’s evening sky, Gee’s is the place to enjoy exceptional food in unique surroundings. The tables on the outdoor terrace are surrounded by the dense foliage of topiary & potted plants – & if you like the plants, some are available for sale. The new interior is filled with trees, new furniture, soft colours & lighting.Of course the important aspect of the new Gee’s is the cooking. A brand new kitchen incorporates a wood fired oven & a charcoal grill; food acknowledges the continued interest in the origin of ingredients, seasonality & the variety & abundance of local Oxfordshire produce.Gee’s remains the place in Oxford to enjoy a fabulous meal. There are dishes for sharing & dishes in two sizes to suit different appetites & times of the day. Expect great food to suit every occasion, served by knowledgeable & friendly waiters, in this beautiful, iconic glasshouse in North Oxford.

Great atmosphere; lacklustre nosh

Such a great venue with a really cool atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. However, we found the food really disappointing - loads of salt and fat, and nothing particularly interesting or thought-out about the flavours and presentation. Reminded me of early gastro pub food, though with a fancier price tag. Shame!

I love food and have lived in oxford for 20 years eating out once or twice a week. The best combination of food with service has always been brasserie blanc but last year gees picked up. A truly awful fall from grace, it's not the food which is very good. It is the faulty-towers like service. Today it took 30... More

This place is at a stone throw from my office, thus, it's our choice when we have a special occasion (and also enough money). Food is always good, and so are staff service. I particularly like the bright airy atmosphere with various herb pots at the entrance. It use to be a garden centre, I was told!

I was passing by and decided to stop to try out the lunchtime menu. We were a bit early, but Gee's staff gladly welcomed us and sat us down early. I ordered from the lunchtime menu and the starter was divine. The Bruchetta was freshly perfect, ripe sweet tomatoes with crispy crunchy onions. It also had a light vinegar dressing... More

Had dinner here on Saturday evening. It was busy so I advise booking. The ambience is lovely and the service efficient and friendly but not rushed. Food and wine both really very good. Can recommend the squid starter. My son's steak was cooked exactly as requested and the flavour superb. My fettucine with crab was a little under seasoned but... More

We had a really pleasant evening thanks to the buzzing atmosphere. However the food was a let-down; it was pretty tasteless overall, with some dishes that didn't come together. The rare beef starter was fatty and chewy, and the risotto was tasteless, although it had been sprinkled with thyme for some reason - a very unsubtle and unpleasant addition. It felt... More

The restaurant is owned by the same organization that owns the Old Parsonage Hotel, where we were staying 2 nights and the Old Bank Hotel. We had meals in both. However, they must not share the same Chef. The food here is bland, bland bland. My chef trained son-in-law has taught me something that I think might just be the... More

Dear Nanette P, How sorry I am to hear about your disappointment in our food. It's wonderful to know that you enjoyed your meal at our other sites but, unfortunately, the same wasn't replicated at Gee's. We select our ingredients very carefully & have extremely accomplished chefs, in the kitchen. Your comments have most certainly been taken on board &... More

The greenhouse area is utterly charming and the food is very good. We ate here twice and I particularly enjoyed brunch. If they're offering it, do get the breakfast pizza. Baked goods are excellent as well.

Dear Lori K, It's great to hear you enjoyed our 'baked goods'. We take pride in our pizzetta dough recipe & to know that it's a success is very rewarding! Thank you ever so much for your review & we really hope to see you soon! Millie More
