Service and food when we attended Gees as part of a large wedding party which booked all tables for an evening. Catering for 80 jolly revellers is not easy but Gees was magnificent. Staff were superb: relaxed, charming and very caring of a couple of off colour children. The food was perfect, individual choices cooked to perfection with generous portions.... More

We went for coffee/tea and loved the place: very nice ambient and great service. Coffee/tea was good and the overall experience became more pleasant when we got some nice pastry on the house. Overall great experience but cannot fully review as we haven't had food there yet although it looked quite nice looking at other tables.

We (table of 4 adults) headed to Gees for Saturday lunch to celebrate a friends 50th birthday...the tables are located in a stunning giant conservatory that makes it seem like the sun is shining (even if it isn't!)...tastefully updated last year, the result is comfortable and relaxed with good food and attentive, friendly staff... My steak was cooked to perfection... More

Having lived in Oxford for a fair few years now, I have had many opportunities to haev dinner at Gee's -- and I have so far never been disappointed. I fondly remember a roasted pork belly with a side of apple crumble and black pudding; the combination, although sounding rather unusual, was simply superb. The wine list as well as... More

We visited on a warm summer evening and were seated in the stunning glass house dining room which was already very full by 7:30pm. The atmosphere was great and we took our time ordering, and could quite happily have had anything off the menu. We settled on roasted artichokes with saffron mayo and roasted quail with garlic and chilli to... More

Uncooked poultry and friendly-but-bad service - not really how I remembered this place from years gone by. My grouse was uncooked underneath the wrapped bacon. When returned to the chef, they'd obviously used the same meat (overcooking the already cooked parts) without replacing any of the prosciutto. My only apology was through the medium of a side salad, on the... More

I apologise for falling below your expectation. It's nice to hear that our service was friendly, however I agree that friendly service does not compensate for unattentive service & I will be following this up with our waiting team. We do serve our game dishes rare to ensure the meat remains succulent, however I will ensure that this is communicated... More

A short notice booking for a large wedding party proved a great success. The service was professional, but engaging. The food was appreciated by all. The setting was stunning. Everyone commented on the quality of the whole evening. Of particular note was the attentive and interested involvement of the manager. Finally, having the place ourselves and being free with what... The seating is in a very large conservatory type affair, it is a very nice venue, and the service is friendly and efficient. The food is very good, and I couldn't fault anything.

I had the soft shell crab for my starter which was quite expensive and to be honest a disapointment, more batter than crab unfortunately. main course was a burger which lacked a bit of flavour. it was an ok meal.Nothing out of this world. Service was spot on and very friendly.

This can't be much of a review really, as I only had coffee here, but it was attractive enough to make us want to go in, and definitely to return for lunch sometime! The staff were really good, and brought us a dish of delicious and freshly cooked doughnuts to go with the excellent coffee. I really like the look... More
