Loch Fyne on Walton Street serves really nice food. When I was in there last week, it proved hard for the staff to find a table, even though there were plenty of free tables. Bogged off for half an hour and came back. The food is very nice. The decor reminds me of Scandinavia rather than Scotland. And when the... More

Lunch visit with two others resulted in some truly delicious and well-prepared loup de mer and baked lobster mains. Fresh, perfectly grilled, moist and flavorful loup de mer. Lobster was declared excellent. Starters included potted mackerel and special ordered plain green salads that fit the bill. The end saw us devouring the lemon tart- a revelation of flaky pastry and... More

The last time I visited here a few years ago the service and food could not be faulted. Unfortunately on my second visit the food remained good but the service was not. My Husband kept his coat on throughout the meal as it was pretty nippy and cold blasts of air were omitting from some unknown source. We were served... More

We visited because of fond memories of Loch Fyne in St. Albans, what a mistake. The restaurant was cold; we noticed one guest eating whilst wearing her coat! The waiter, who was condescending and self-opinionated, introduced himself as "your waiter for the evening" and promptly left us with menus and kept us waiting for an interminable period before returning to... Called in Friday evening, very busy and only slight hitch was that our online reservation had not been actioned . However no problem as a table was quickly found and we enjoyed a really excellent value meal with a bottle of the house white wine. We shall certainly return and look out for more offers!

For a xmas set menu it wasn't bad. I had seafood tempura (nice), sea bream (lovely) and frangipane tart (average). My firend had the same but with xmas pudding which she declared delicious. Others had steak (good) and various desserts. Overall the quality was good, service prompt and surroundings pleasant. The only disppointment was the quality of the desserts. Would... More

We ate lunch on New Year's Eve, before going to see the pantomime. We received a warm welcome, and were shown to a table on the middle floor - I didn't see it, but my husband told me there was a large lower floor. We were the first diners, and there were only twelve by the time we were ready... More

The Loch Fyne restaurant cooked four meals to perfection. I particularly liked my starter which consisted of three different types of smoked salmon. One of the pieces was under a glass dome of smoke! As a family we loved the food and everyone was satisfied and nourished. The service was also excellent.

I ate at loch fyne on a busy Tuesday night after recommendations of excellent shellfish from friends. I was not disappointed by this and was also pleasantly surprised by the excellent waiting staff who were bubbly and attentive and exceeded our expectations (a young female manager who wore glasses and a man named Alex). Definitely worth a visit.

4 of us dined together. We were served quickly and efficiently. We all opted for the Christmas menu which had a good selection. Food was well presented and cooked.
