Not cheap, but tasty fish

I continue to be amazed how hard it is to find fresh fish in restaurants in the UK - this restaurant is doing quite well at countering this. The prices aren't cheap, but given it's Oxford they're not too bad. The seafood is fresh and well cooked (it was nice, though I wouldn't say it's the best... read more

I really like going to Loch Fyne Oxford. The only place in Oxford which serves fresh and delicious oysters! great with a glass of Prosecco. The staff are always very helpful, smiling and welcoming. That is true, that Loch Fyne on some occasions is extremely busy, and maybe more staff needed, but hospitality is a hard business, you never know... More

I have had very good food here but on this occasion, a mid-week business lunch for 9 people, the service was very slow. The other time to watch is weekends at lunchtime when small children are brought in and often allowed to run round, whilst creating a noise. Difficult for staff to deal with, but I think that a Manager/Supervisor... More

I have not been at Loch Fyne for over a year, I went last Saturday evening with friends and I was pleasantly surprised how good the evening was! The menu choice was excellent for all courses and the Cuvée Amelie Chardonay was very complimentary with the food. I particularly enjoyed the Haggis with Scallops as a starter and the Seafood... Waited over an hour for starters then had to wait over an hour for mains but despite continual reminders had to leave to catch train! Would not recommend to anyone!

Usually only post positive comments but this time I feel I have to post a negative one. Have been to this restaurant many times but it has been going downhill in the last few months. Today we were turned away at 1420 from a half empty restaurant because they said that they didn't have enough staff. Very disappointed and will... More

The food was nice and some of the dishes very good, but some of them are overpriced like paying £6.5 for two grilled sardines + 12% gratuity… Good service on the whole, although a bit slow. We had to wait 30 minutes before they took our orders, but they apologized several times for the wait, and gave us free olives... More

This place was hopping but we managed to get a table. The food was tasty. I had the fish soup and it had some nice pieces of fish and prawns in it. Could have had a bit more soup though. If it's s cold night, try to get a table further inside as its cold near the door.

Beautiful place and great ambiance. Perfect place to enjoy a fresh plate of see food. Service could be a bit more prompt and efficient. The staff very kind and helpful. I do recommend

Visited for a lunch with an old lover over easter. We were lucky enough to be served by the manager Carl, and the gorgeous Rosie. Service was outstanding and very attentive. We were given a lovely round table in an intimate booth which gave us the perfect opportunity to rekindle our fondness for one another. We started with a lovely... More
