I ate at loch fyne on a busy Tuesday night after recommendations of excellent shellfish from friends. I was not disappointed by this and was also pleasantly surprised by the excellent waiting staff who were bubbly and attentive and exceeded our expectations (a young female manager who wore glasses and a man named Alex). Definitely worth a visit.

4 of us dined together. We were served quickly and efficiently. We all opted for the Christmas menu which had a good selection. Food was well presented and cooked.

This venue was chosen by our company for a Xmas lunch party of 13. It proved extremely disappointing from start to finish. Front of house was virtually non existent as we found our own way to two unconnected tables. Service was slow, inattentive and relentlessly unsmiling throughout the three hours. The undrinkable Rioja chosen from a short red wine list... More

This was a second visit after a year of banning the place. It's a great space and romantic atmosphere, despite the open kitchen. The service is welcoming and professional most of the time, that it gars every time it is not. And the same for the food: Good products, elegant presentation and a pleasing taste -- except on the times... More

I do love Loch Fyne a big fan. Me & my Sister enjoyed a very good lunch. Service as always was outstsanding. Food was outstanding my scallops were to die for, and my Sister had the Oysters and they were very nice too. The mains were to also to die for. portion size is just right The sitting arrangement is... More

Met up here with some family members after a long day out. Our last experience at another Loch fyne was not good so I entered with a little trepidation. However, staff were very welcoming and willing to explain the menu. Food was served relatively quickly and was very tasty, Portion sizes were adequate and I can safely say that we... More

On Saturday we went with my mother, who needs a wheelchair to get around, for lunch at Loch Fyne. The restaurants is pleasantly arranged and a nice place to eat. The food was really good, although my mother's risotto was not hot. However, they said they would have changed it had she mentioned it at the start of the meal.... More

The food, was very good. Scallops and haggis, unusual combination that worked well. The Spicy Chorizo and Seafood Couscous was outstanding, stunning good seafood flavours in a rich tomato sauce enhanced by the Chorizo. Lobster Spaghetti had exquisite flavoured sweet lobster in a very rich sauce. Not massive amount of lobster, but was good value given the cost and quality... More

The food was really good, as we hoped... although we were surprised that the dressed crab only came with a bit of salad. It's very rich and we felt it needed some kind of bread/toast to eat it with. Luckily we'd ordered (and paid for) a basket of bread, so we ate it with that. The service though was poor.... More

Not a bad place. Positives are that the place is close to the city centre, is fairly roomy, has decent toilets, offers reasonably good food and drink, and is not massively overpriced. One key point, there is no intrusive background music so you don't have to shout in order to engage in conversation with your dinner companions. Possible negatives. I... More
