The food in this restaurant is gorgeous. The staff are inviting and friendly but professional. There is a good atmosphere to the place. Perfect if you want fine food without a huge price tag.

Visited midweek on business. The restaurant wasn't overly busy but was almost full. What was great was you could hold a private conversation without having to shout above other diners and no one could overhear your conversation. Tables nicely spaced with room for people to circulate without bumping into other diners Menu was varied with a good selection. Wines were... More

We chose the Brasserie Blanc in order to try out the special "Maman Blanc" Summer set menu for lunch. At £14.45 for three courses and a glass of house wine included, it represents good value on paper. The experience was pleasant and we quite enjoyed it, but some aspects let it down. The jug of tap water we asked for... More

We had been together 20 years, so came here for a special meal. Staff were excellent, attentive without being pushy, and describing the food to us properly. The food itself was excellent - I had a cheddar cheese souffle for starters. Main course cod and my partner sardines, both excellent. Lemon parfait, again very very good. Wine very good, and... More

My second review of this restaurant, three years on, and my impressions haven't changed, despite many visits in between. We recently tried the July set menu and, as usual, found each dish to be well conceived and containing the freshest of ingredients (vegetables could have been picked that morning and grown for their flavour). The best creme caramel I've ever... More

We, my wife, middle son and I, enjoyed our evening here, with the exception of the temperature in the restaurant - it felt almost that we were being cooked! To be fair, it was a very hot evening. Booking on line was easy, and we received a good welcome as we arrived and friendly and efficient service thereafter. The food... More

The restaurant is very pleasant and was almost empty when I went for a business lunch. We chose from the set menu which was good value. The food was good, but not exceptional. A summer salad with a perfectly poached egg, and a pork sirloin which was good but didn't get the taste buds zinging too much. A glass of... More

When this restaurant first opened it was Blanc's initial departure from his flagship at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and had seriously good cookery going on. In the intervening years the brand has changed, as has ownership, and with expansion into other venues the quality has, perhaps inevitably, dropped. On the most recent visit it seemed as if the food... More

We booked a table for lunch in this restaurant after checking out the website. Good website and menus available to download. Also very efficient online booking with a text sent to confirm. I signed up for the newsletter and got a voucher for a free bottle of house wine. We chose the white, a quite tasty sauvignon blanc. I had... More

Disappointing and pedestrian cooking. Two first courses were fine but the warm ox tongue salad was a disaster- chewy and gristly meat and virtually no dressing- what there was didn't seem to bear much relation to what the menu promised. Crab was fine but the(?frozen) skinny crispy fries didn't work well with it. The cheese soufflé was a somewhat stolid... More
