Tried to book today, but no answer from the phone and the place was in darkness with a pile of post inside the door. I hope it reopens as this was a thriving pub serving good quality food. I have rated this from my last visit as I don't want to drag down its rating if it opens up again.

The oxford blue just off the iffley road looks quite unremarkable. We spotted it by chance. When you go in, it's an unexpected shady continental shabby chic space with a very interesting menu and lovely aromas from the kitchen. We noted each dish comes with a wine suggestion to complement it best The sad bit; we were truly sorry we... More

Despite the admission from the barman that there was no real ale at the moment, we stayed for some wine and tapas. The tapas prepared by a Galician chef were excellent - as was the conversation with James the barman who has had an interesting career.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience. So good that we returned the following night. Staying locally and the pub is only two streets away. They still have draught beer issues but that didn't bother us as we're wine drinkers. The carafe of Mancia was excellent. We chose a meat and a vegetarian platter the first time, then a selection of tapas dishes the... More

We have been to the Oxford Blue many times over the last few years and always loved the food. We went last week and it was the worst meal we have ever had. Having looked on trip adviser afterwards I see they have changed hands. The new manager needs to make some big changes or this place will be out... More

Its with a heavy heart that I need to agree with previous comments- the Oxford Blue is well past it's best. I used to love coming here as a student and again when it changed hands and became more gastro. I went in with my partner and was faced with the prospect of no draught lager- fail. I was offered... Our accommodation was just down the street so it was very convenient. It was quiet (perhaps due to when we ate), clean and nicely decorated. Being summer we sat out back in a lovely patio area. The food had a slight middle eastern flair and was well prepared. Both the waiter and the chef came to ask how we liked... More

Came by with some friends, was a bit of disappoint in the start, they have no lagers or ales on draft, some of my mates left, but i have to tell, the tapas selection was amazing. We have a selection of tapas in a large wood plate, everything there was tasty and nice, the wine is also amazing, and has... More

Lovely little pub. Peacful and quiet garden, beautiful in the sun! Staff were very friendly, attentive and welcoming. My partner and I both had the pork belly roast. Delicious melt in the mouth pork and veggies! Could not fault it!Massive compliments to the new chef :) We also had a homemade chocolate cake and panacota. The chocolate cake reminded me... More

This place is truly awful, seriously no beer, food that you expect at a beer festival...if I want a floury bap and wilted tomato with the desert burger I'll head to the Bognor Regis steam fair....I'm not being harsh, they should close the doors and rethink as the general public do not enjoy being ripped off.
