Great place for coffee

I stopped past here for an early morning coffee. The coffee was good and there was plenty of room to work. Certainly better than the chain coffee stores. Probably not my favourite place in town, but still very good. I would probably have coffee here again, but prefer Jericho Coffee Traders or... read more

We were excited to be eating here for supper on MayDay eve after reading the reviews but we were slightly disappointed to find the food simply adequate. Couldn't fault the atmosphere or super friendly and cheerful service though.

We were recently staying overnight in Oxford and looking for somewhere for dinner as the hotel restaurant didn’t appeal. We found an advertisement for the Turl Street Kitchen and found a winner. It’s quite a small place with bare tables served by young, pleasant and enthusiastic people – probably students and well filled with diners. The menu isn’t long and... More

Good food, great staff, good service, cool atmosphere, reasonable price. Have been twice and still not sure why we try other places on our regular visits to Oxford

A well-intentioned place that just doesn't make it. 2 drink choices on the menu were unavailable and what was ordered took a long time to arrive. Very limited menu choice. The fish was seriously overcooked and the clotted cream accompanying the dessert just wasn't clotted. Service was friendly and the price was reasonable - as one would hope considering the... More

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to write a review, we really appreciate the feedback and have passed it on to our chef. We're glad you found the service friendly, but are sorry to hear that the food didn't match that for you. We source our food as locally as possible and use mainly seasonal ingredients - so we only... When visting Oxford we skip breakfast at home, beat the traffic and have breakfast here. This time was a meeting point for 7 of us before a busy day with a visiting coach party. The breakfast never disappoints, pastries, smoked salmon, bacon rolls and a goodly number of double espressos. I love the atmosphere & the staff are always cheery &... More

After the fuss that is made about this place, I'm sorry to say I was a little disappointed. My food was average to poor. I had chicken and ham hock terrine to start, this had peices of cartilage and a small chicken bone in. I can forgive the odd bit, as these things happen but there were several bits of... More

Hi Bethany, We're very sorry to hear that your experience at TSK did not live up to your expectations. As you say, we value fresh, seasonal food - but never at the cost of quality and taste, and we're disappointed that you didn't find this to be the case. Our menu changes every day, and we hope that you'll give... More

Service is worth mentioning- the energy in this restaurant is positive and prompt. Food was pretty good with pork chop being a must try and the pie getting a thumbs up. Also had the duck leg and dessert order of brownie. Both decent (I would still go for the pork chop). Was lucky I managed to get a table on... More

We booked for 2 for an early evening dinner. We would normally look at the menu in advance but when we booked at lunchtime the evening menu hadn't been decided yet, so I think that's a good sign. The chef is thinking about what to serve and not just delivering the set daily menu evening after evening. Anyway, very good... More
