I would go as far as to say Old Tom is my favorite place to spend an evening with friends. The staff are fantastic, the beer is good and the food is cheep but really is excellent. It's a small menu of Thai food but it is such good value for money. It is quite a romantic little venue -... More

The food was worth the nightmarish effort to find the place and parking. Oxford might be home to the world's second greatest university, but they have not worked out how to handle the car. The atmosphere was pleasant, if crowded, and a mix of diners and lads in for a quick beer. The puzzle was that their draft was decidedly... More

My husband treated me to a delicious Thai meal here tonight. Although we have visited this pub many times this was the first time we had eaten here and it certainly will not be the last. The food was amazingly tasteful and excellent value for money. The service was first class....staff here are just so friendly and helpful and nothing... More

The Old Tom is generally pretty empty, despite the good and inexpensive Thai food - the reason perhaps is the terrible service by the grumpy barman and equally grumpy lady-in-charge-of-the food: both of which I and a member of my family have experienced on two visits, the last and worst this week. No wonder the nearby Crown, in Cornmaket, who... More

Amazing food, good value and great service - you could easily walk by this pub and not give it a second glance but the little Thai restaurant at the back is brilliant and well worth a visit if you are in Oxford.

Coming out of a workshop at the Oxford Museum with my kids, I needed place for lunch quickly, both because the kids were hungry and the skies had opened, pelting us with a mixture of rain and sleet. The Old Tom Pub was just down the road, and completely empty at 12:30 pm. Great for a party of 2 adults... More

Looking for a place to eat in Oxford we popped in to try the Thai food on offer. We were not disappointed! The food was tasty, well presented and good value for money. The staff were pleasant and friendly and attentive. Shame it's over 60 miles away from home otherwise it could quite easily become our local and regular eatery... More

The Old Tom is one of my favourite pubs in Oxford. It is such a lovely little place to have a beer close to the city centre. They pretty much only serve Thai, which is both excellent and inexpensive. The only downside to the Old Tom is the lack of seating due to its size. Definitely try this one if... More

What a lucky choice on wandering round Oxford for the first time to chose this pub for a few pints. We sat in the bar area at the front - no frills, just good draught beer and cider and the surprising bonus of scrumptious Thai food. There were people of all ages in the bar area, which is refreshing to... More

My girlfriend and I enjoyed one of the curries and the Pad Thai respectively. The menu is unfussy (and would perhaps benefit from the addition of Thai squid, for example) but it was difficult to fault the food we had, especially at the pub's price point (two mains, two drinks + service = £25). The pub also has a great... More
