Best Thai in Town

Have conducted an extensive survey of Thai food in Oxford and have decided that this place is the best. It's the green curry you want here. Go to Bangkok House at lunchtime if you want Pad Thai. The pub - which seems to be run quite separately - is quite nice too. But of a sticky-table kind of... read more

Though the pub specialises in Thai food we decided to have traditional English faire. My fish was cooked wonderfully and my girlfriends rack of ribs came of the bones like pulled pork... Very reasonable price and wonderful food. Would visit again if in Oxford.

My friends and I stopped off at this pub a few evenings ago as it was one that we had not visited previously. The exterior makes the pub seem quite pleasant, and its location on St Aldate's would imply that is so as well; but unfortunately not. Once inside, the pub smells of stale beer and sweat. It was about... More

recommended by a friend, but not sure why. This pub doubles up as a Thai restaurant. We didn't eat there, just drank, so can't comment on the food. Ok. Decor and layout. The pub is small, long and dark. It's claustrophobic, and there's no where to sit that isn't next to the walkway. It's dimly lit, if lit at all.... More

The food was tasty and staff friendly, but the cleaning fluid they use was so strong the smell over whelmed the pub!

We only called in here for a drink but it is a cosy little bar with lots of atmosphere. Prices are reasonable too.

I really enjoy the food here. They serve big portions and I have often struggled to finish, despite wanting to! The only down side to my last visit was that two other customers came and sat near us and basically did their own photo shot, doing all sorts of poses and taking pictures of themselves for well over 15 minutes.... Great value tasty Thai food in a non-pretentious Oxford city centre pub; what's not to like. We were a little skeptical and upon entering weren't too sure if we'd made a mistake, but a friendly face behind the bar showed us to a table at the back. After taking our drinks order and a quick glance of the menu, we... More

We came in and realised that there were no free table as few had a reserved signed on them. As we started to walk out the owner/ waitress came and asked us for how many people. She removed the reserved sign and gave us a table...if you see a table being booked asked as it might be in fact free.... More

Definitely not the best Thai but it is very reasonable & the portions are huge (you could easily share) I'd compare the food to a basic take out place which seems a bit harsh but if you're drinking in the pub is really nice to be able to get some cheap eats
