Good beer, good food - excellent value

After hearing about some issues with the Folly (now the WhiteHouse) for meals, we decided to head elsewhere to eat. There were locals watching the match and a few relaxing with pints; although it looks a basic old traditional pub it didn't feel grubby nor was it noisy. I ordered food and drinks... read more

Had a bit of time before I was due at work and stopped on a whim. Lovely staff, nice garden, well kept ale and a big fresh juicy burger. Can't fault it. Just what I needed.

We stayed in the hotel across the road from this pub and called into watch the football (which my team lost), we were made to feel very welcome by both staff - Jenny & Simon and customers alike. There was a good mix of young and old drinking in the very relaxed atmosphere, food is available and looked very nice... More

A busy pub serving food with 2 bar staff and 1 guy running around like a headless chicken on Mother's Day is not ideal. The food was gross, hardly touched my roast, everything was deep fried. The menu is cheap and it reflects in the quality of the food. Hats off to the young barmaid and the older guy running... More

Order meals that came with desserts on the free dessert with a giant plate meal when we went to get the desserts they said we had to ask for them when we ordered the meal yet it should be there job to ask what dessert we want, plus it took them 30 minuite to sort it out and we had... More

This is a medium sized local pub which usually has a juke box or TV on the go so won't suit everybody. The style of menu makes you think everything will be precooked and microwaved but everything we ordered looked and tasted freshly made. The beef & ale pie even looked like the meat had been cooked in the pastry... More

We had Sunday Roast here. They have a good price that includes a beer. You have the choice of either beef or chicken, we had one of each. The plate includes a small amount of mashed potatoes, roasted potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, parsnips and peas. The food was plentiful and well prepared. We enjoyed it.

DO NOT eat or drink at this awful run down place, after visiting our once local for years this has gone so downhill it's completley off the piste! After been taken over by the new manager we have had to stop going in to a once enjoyable place, he is rude, arrogant and certainly should not be in charge. We... More

Ate here twice. Avarage food, but on both visits the bartenders were rude and the place was dirty. Requested the bartender to clean our table before we ordered, but he "only had two hands".....

Visited here on Saturday night with my husband and 2 children the food is very good value normal pub grub but what makes this place is the staff all of them very cheerful especially tiff who went out of her way to talk to us and very helpful with a very small issue we had, would definitely visit here again...
