Lovely rooftop location, fairly pricey but decent food

The restaurant has lovely location on the rooftop of the museum and at the moment ( April) the tulips in the planter boxes are stunning. I chose various vegetarian options ( would have liked to have seen more though) and they were quite good. I had the bruschetta, which came with broccolini and a... read more

A stunning spot to enjoy a coffee made to perfection, a glass of wine in the sunshine, afternoon tea with friends or to taste something wonderful from their fantastic menu. Been back multiple times since October, and every time it has been a delightful experience, with attentive, friendly and charming staff. Only drawback is that it is a little expensive,... More

I booked a Lunch for two yesterday on my husband's Birthday, I even mentioned that when I did the booking but I guess they did not even bother to read the notes, to be honest I probably did not need to book, it was not busy at all. The place is beautiful and we could it stayed there for hours,... More

We turned up for lunch, quite early and were lucky to get a table. I suspect booking in advance would be recommended and, if the weather is warm enough, the outside terrace would be the place to be. We only had a light lunch and glass of wine. Unfortunately the bread and oil ordered as a simple starter didn't turn... More

Delightful lunch on a sunny terrace. Interesting menu, fairly small though various tastes well catered for. Food tasted very good and well presented. The Ashmolean just let down a little by poorly trained staff particularly 'the meet and greet' woman who dithered! Waiting staff mixed, some reaching across customers continually - odd having several waiting staff rather than just one... More

Still a stunning space atop the museum. On this sunny spring day the terrace was delightfully open and four of us lunched outside. The kitchen seemed to be taken by surprise by the weather. Food was a long time coming and seemed to have less of a spring in its step than on previous visits. One began to have doubts... More

We made a last minute decision to go to the ADR and it was brilliant. The restaurant has a great light airy feel to it and the decor is just right. We were waited on by an Italian who was so welcoming and warm. We ordered a started of fig and blood orange which was sublime. We then had the... More

Not a great start as we didn't find the menu that inspiring and the set menu was the same as the main menu. The food was fairly unexciting and the service was slow and we had a number of waiting staff rather than a single person looking after our table which made it less personal. The service was fine but... More

We visited here for dinner as we're on their mailing list and the offer was a free bottle of wine when you dine - perfect as we'd been meaning to visit for a while. Bit of a quirky entrance, but once we entered we were instantly impressed with the surrounding, lovely calm lighting and great views. The service was a... More

Probably stunning outside in the summer but inside in March not so great ... In summary confusion over booking then appetisers unfortunately never arrived, starters were very tasteless and ham had 1/4 of (very small) meat portion solid lump of fat, mains lovely (steak & fish) no chocolate option for desert so sadly opted for cheese .. That arrived a... More
