Decent enough to forget there was a museum underneath us

A smart view over Oxford is a small piece of the restaurants offering, the main being the bright setting and clinking of glasses. It seems insincere to be drinking french wine at the expense of time spent in the museum, I can only hope the Ashmolean recoups some of the money we poured into their... read more

Considering the downstairs is a limited cafeteria, this was quite good. Lots of desserts and goodies. The staff was very nice and helpful. The environment was casual and restful.

We chose the roast Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The service was very friendly and the pudding was also very good. Prices were reasonable. It was the perfect ending to a visit to an exhibition in the museum.

In my stay in Oxford I remembered the restaurant i have heard before and decided to give it a try. They don't have a huge menu but fantastic food, a lovely atmosphere and excellent stuff. It is a great choice for couples to have a romantic dinner. I really recommend their chicken :)

Visited the restaurant( as opposed to the cafe) for afternoon tea. It as busy with lunchtime diners but service was prompt. We ordered cream teas. Good variety of teas on offfer. China cups and saucers. Scones were very large and still warm. No choice of jam flavours offered. Cream tea marginally cheaper than pot of tea and slice of cake.... More

Food could be better. Menu a bit dull. Starter wasn't good at all neither was the Spotted Dry Dick I had for pudding! Had to say the main was delicious. The service was excellent but only four tables so maybe why!

We stumbled across this lovely restaurant by accident, noticing the board outside while out looking for a spot for dinner. We were delighted to find it and would recommend to anyone looking for a lovely contemporary meal out. I imagine in summer the roof top outside would be lovely to sit out on an enjoy an evening wine! The meal... More

A very pleasant place for lunch - we ate there twice. We had the excellent (if slightly overdressed) butternut squash salad main, well spiced squash soup and an adequate crab cake starter (more like potato and crab paste, fried). The mackerel pate starter was excellent. The cod was also well prepared although it didn't go particularly well with the tomato/chorizo... More
