This may be a bit unfair as we didn't actually eat here, but we turned up at about 2 on a Sunday, without booking as we were walking around town, to get some food and, fair enough as it was Sunday, it was pretty full. However instead of being polite about it or trying to fit us in they were... More

Having been told by a friend what a lovely rooftop restaurant this is we thought we would have lunch there before our 2pm slot for the William Blake exhibition last Friday. While the restaurant is indeed in a gorgeous location the food we had can only be described as poor and completely overpriced. My husband ordered the guinea fowl (£16.00)... More

We were visiting the Blake exhibition on 28/2 and being early for our 2pm timed entry, we decided to stop for lunch. The restaurant on the third floor looked pleasant and on enquiring if they had a space at 1pm, after a bit of humming and haa-ing as we had no reservation, we were shown to a table with the... More

We had eaten here when it first opened, after the revamp at the Ashmolean- wer had a lovely afternoon tea with good service. Now it is a lunch /dinner venue with very poor (if any) choices for veggies- when we went they only had a cheese laided pasta dish! Not great when one member is also gluten sensitive and another... Stumbled upon this place by chance when visiting the museum so booked for Sunday lunch. What a treat. The quality of the cooking is excellent achieving a good balance of flavours with high quality ingredients. If I had to be picky I would say the portion sizes were on the small side for Sunday lunch but I wouldn't let that... More

We visited the Ashmolean Museum and found the Dining Room quite by accident. We did not really want a big lunch so we chose a couple of starters and had some gin & tonic's for good measure. We were well looked after by Kate who kept us entertained and made us feel welcome despite the fact we just wanted a... More

My elderly Father and I ate here for lunch on the 20th February, after visiting the Blake exhibition. The food was excellent (quite expensive, but very good) and although it was very busy, the service _ especially from our waitress - was great. Do book. Lots of people were continually being turned away while we were there. Not sure this... More

The restaurant was quite busy when we arrived for lunch about 1.30pm without booking, but we were quickly shown to a table. Some of the staff seemed a little harassed but our waiter was well in control of things. We were impressed when another customer dropped something that rolled under a banquette against the wall and he swiftly moved a... More
