Fine dining but at a price

Very good quality food, good service but found the prices to be a little expensive. I would come again but only for a coffee and a light snack

Have been to the museum many times, but this was the first we had tried the restaurant. Very lively lunchtime service, with excellent views and service. Menu, limited if you are on a budget, but very tasty. Our party tried the squid, and mussels, both of which were excellent along with salads and fried. Great breads and olives to start.... More

Great view, especially outside if the weather is good enough, we have eaten there twice in the last month and both times the food has been excellent - especially the starters. In fact a couple of us shared five starters instead of having a main and starter - they were so interesting. Service was good on both occasions too, and... More

We had a fantastic afternoon tea at the Ashmolean Dining Room yesterday. The food was delicious but at times the service was very slow which was the only thing that stopped our celebration from being perfect.

Had a very pleasant afternoon tea in the roof top restaurant with great views over the city. There is an outside dining area complete with a grassed area and deck chairs! Selection of little finger sandwiches, enormous, really delicious scones with jam and cream and a selection of little chocolate cakes. The only negative was the use of tea bags... More

I met my son there for a morning coffee and we sat outside on the terrace, the location is beautiful for a sunny day, the breakfast was good and staff very attentive, however I returned there the next day with friends and was keen to show off my new discovery, it was a Thursday evening and the place was dead,... My mum and dad were on a tour of our local city for my mums birthday. She came to the roof top to have a nice cream tea in the middle of her day. They arrived and were told to wait to be seated only to be told by a waiter, who seemingly didnt know what to do, that they... More

Completely perfect. Excellent service, exquisite surroundings and delicious food. Simply cooked with incredible, locally sourced ingredients. Great vegetarian options too. Worth every penny.

After a wonderful trip to the museum we decided to try the restaurant. Unfortunately the food did not in any way come up to the same standards as the Galleries. My wife had Grilled Squid, which was very underdone and chewy. My fish of the day was Hake with a very watery ratatouille. The whole meal was very underwhelming and... More

Seven of us went last week for tea. After the tea, scones and jam arrived, we asked for milk for the tea. The waiter looked at us as if we had asked for something absurd. By the time the milk came the tea was cold and the waiter felt it necessary to emphazise that we were having *two* jugs (for... More
