Excellent food & service with lovely rooms.

The food here is stunning. Our evening meal was sublime and also our full English in the morning was very good too. Service from staff was excellent and the room was lovely. We were lucky enough to have room 8 which was essentially a top floor flat. Lovely period features such as old beams, wooden... read more

We were looking forward to a Sunday roast at an old English pub in a beautiful village. In short, the two servings of roast lamb were inedible and may have been verging on unsafe to eat. Worse still whoever put the meat onto the plate must have known as the meat looked congealed and tasted like nothing on earth. Ok... More

I've eaten here a few times before - each time was good although the service was a bit "random". Stopped in for breakfast this morning and it was a reasonable effort, although it was a little overcooked, and they did seem perhaps a little understaffed. At the end of the day its an off peak Tuesday morning so nothing really... More

The food was outstanding , I had scallops to start which were cooked beautifully and pork belly for main with lovely crunchy crackling.i didn't think I'd manage a pudding but so glad I did(choc Orange soufflé )just stunning! Amazing food, amazing service, well done!

15 of us gathered here for a family get together dinner during Easter holidays. They couldn't have done more for us! Attentive, quick to respond to our multiple requests- made us feel very welcome! Food was delicious - and good portion sizes. I can recommend their 'build a sharing platter' starter, as I'm vege but my husband isn't, so we... More

The food was amazing, the staff are lovely and the service was faultless (even though we were in a big group of 16). I've been here a few times now and this is always the case. Highly recommended!

I think the title says it all. Service a bit slow, but computers were down so they had to resort to pen and paper and manual credit card machines

We are locals to this pub/restaraunt so use it for various reasons: can't be bothered to cook night to special occasions when you don't want to drive. Lovely setting in the village and it is a beautifully decorated pub. Food is good but there is often things not available on the menu even at 6pm on a Friday night. Staff... More

Having read all the reviews I can only think we caught it on an off day. My main consisted of a lump of Belly Pork stuck in the middle of the plate, half a baked apple topped with a miniscule pork cheek, One very small onion, three bits of small nondescript veg and some smeared sauce. Not recommended in any... More
