Great food, great atmosphere but slow service

Stopped by for lunch on a day of torrential rain! Found a table quickly which was cleared by efficient if not overly friendly staff. Ordered a selection of dishes: calamari, potatas bravas, meatballs in tomato sauce, vegetable skewers, chickpea and spinach and a few others. All the food... read more

We had a great selection of tapas and wine. It's really busy in a fun way (but perhaps not the place for a quiet meal). The food was great and the service was good.

We stopped in for some Tapas and a sangria. Service was excellent, restaurant was full- lots of students. We had the shrimp and garlic, and several other tapas. Good food and reasonable prices.

I came here a week ago with a large party and we had a fantastic time. The staff were very patient with us as we continuously delayed ordering (late guests!) and were always at hand to ensure that we had everything we needed and desired. I, rather stupidly, ate a large meal a couple of hours before arriving at the... More

I visited Al-Andalus on a Saturday night with two friends, we only booked an hour or two in advance but were lucky to have a table in the courtyard on a sunny evening. We ordered drinks and a selection of tapas to share. The sangria was so delicious we had to have 2 large jugs! The food was excellent, great... More

A vibrant restaurant just to the north of the city centre in a street with many other restaurants, including a Carluccio's. Al-Andalus is always busy, most probably because the food and service are so good. Great range of tapas dishes in convivial surroundings, very quick service and lots for vegetarians.

We stayed in Oxford for one night, and had heard this was a good place to try out! Very good food and friendly wait staff, the tables are a little cramped, but as it gets to busy you can see why! The service was a little slow, but as they were so busy was to be expected, but the food... More

I have loved this restaurant since I first discovered it in 2008. Having regularly visited since then, I have never been disappointed. I would hugely recommend the chicken dish (pollo con piquillos y crema de nata) as well as the pork on toast dish and the fried goats cheese. I have never tried the paella here (I love the tapas... Relaxed service and ambience, good tapas and well priced wine - well worth a visit. You will need to wait 40 mins for he paella but it's tasty and gives you the opportunity to sample some tapas before. The honey toasted goats cheese is something I continue to dream about.

We came here after seeing the Giffords Circus, and wandered in as it looked busy and a fun place to eat on a Saturday night. We asked for a table and were asked to wait .... literally for over 10 minutes before the waiter even bothered to check his reservation list for us. We asked another waiter for a drink... More
