Delicious, authentic Tapas

I decided to visit Al-Andalus with some friends for a night out as I fancied something a little different to the usual pre-night out curry or burger. Al-Andalus is tucked away on a side street in Oxford but a stones throw away from some great bars. Sat near the main window at the front (which... read more

We often meet here for tasty lunch. They do a great deal with 2 tapas plus bread for £8.50. My husband always makes us order another dish so we have 5, delicious, but too much for lunch! All the tapas we've tried have been excellent. The absolutely best dish without doubt is the stuffed dates wrapped in bacon-Aamaazing!

We really enjoyed the restaurant. This was very good Spanish food. We had the paella al carne. It took about 40 minutes to make, but we knew this when we ordered. It was definitely worth waiting for this dish. While waiting, we had tapas of goat cheese with honey and the chorizo -- both very good. This ended up being... More

I've been coming to Oxford for decades and, sadly report, that the food remains mediocre. The pub food is okay for visitors and tourists but the stuff will make you ill. Seriously. As a New Yorker, I'm truly shocked that a town with a robust Asian population has so little to offer in truly quality Asian food. Thai at Chiang... More

Three of us enjoyed an early evening meal here on a cold, February night. The welcome was warm and friendly and the waiter regularly made sure we were happy with everything. We chose 3 dishes apiece which included patatas bravas, an aubergine dip, goats cheese salad, squid rings, hummus and more. All were very tasty and we were well and... More

Really felt the Spanish culture in this place. Me and my partner arrive on a very busy Friday night where the waitress got us a table for 2 instantly. With in seconds our drinks arrive and they requested our food. No messing around with these badgers, food straight out and by Joe was it good. Sitting plan wasn't the best... More

For a romantic date or a nice night out with friends, Al-Andalous is ideal. Some tapas are refined, some are addictive, others remind of a previous trip to Spain, in brief, it is worth trying this place. Warm decor and friendly staff.

This is such a cute place, very small so best to book, so many tapas dishes, good value and very tasty! Lovely staff and an authentic Spanish vibe!

Had excellent paella here and some fine tapas. Range of deserts less impressive. There is a good atmosphere with (fairly restrained) Spanish dancing on Saturday evenings - five minutes once an hour. Note that on Saturdays they book in two evening sittings and you will be turned off your table if you haven't vacated by the end of the first... More

It's a nice little restaurant, with a fairly Spanish feel, although some of the tables look a little bit cramped. We started by ordering a large jug of Sangria which was £14.50. I have to say, this was delicious, but it essentially tasted of fruit juice. The menu claimed it was 11 percent alcohol but I can say with confidence... More
