Decent Student Pub

As pubs go, the food was reasonably good though not so good that you'd go for that reason. We got 3 small plates: a duck pate, pumpkin fritters, and a chorizo dish. We also ordered the pear and hazelnut flatbread. The service was prompt and friendly though the pub was very busy. The Tiny Rebel... read more

A large group of us came for out work Christmas meal. Staff were very patient waiting for us all to arrive. The table was set out very lovely, with pretty name tags. which we swapped around once we got there, these also had out orders one. Mine was wrong but was soon corrected when I pointed this out. I really... More

Went in for a Sunday afternoon drink and bite to eat with a good friend, for our first introduction to his wonderful new lady. The menu doesn't offer huge amounts for regular eaters, but evidently catered for the vegetarian as the New Ms. Bing was happy with some weirdy sharing platter of unrecognisable something, which apparently was 'very nice indeed'.... Visited here with friends for Sunday lunch. The front of house staff were all friendly and efficient, and the bar man made a really delicious Bloody Mary for me. The menu looked nice, but a fair choice of sharing plates, roasts and burgers, however it was poorly prepared by the kitchen staff. I ordered the mixed roast of beef and... More

I couldn't buy any alcohol, cause my proof of identity was not British! The only thing they accept is a passport, which I don't take with me for a night out (am I being stupid here?). I should point out, that my ID was issued in the EU, not in a foreign country with no diplomatic relations.

Overall poor service standards ... Orders was wrong .. Food was cold ... And i was overcharged ... I ordered 2 meals and only received one and discovered later that i was charged for 2 ... However the waitress insisted that there was only one main meal ordered ... It appears that the staff just could not handle the few... More

Came here for an early Friday evening dinner. Large range of drinks to choose from, and a friendly barman to help you if you need it. We ordered food and sat with drinks to wait. Cutlery and sauce brought quickly, and the food not far behind. It was lovely and well presented. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the pesto... More

Had a day in Oxford without any purpose other than to have a good mooch. Found this pub before visiting the botanic gardens. The pub offers a good choice of real ales of which I had a pint of well kept Brakesspear. My partner was surprised by the selection of gins and had one called Ophir which was served with... More

We went to this pub last Wednesday me and my boyfriend to have lunch and a couple of beers. The Greek girl on the bar which was very pleasant and helpful explained us to go for a burger and a pint for 9 pounds which we did. Burger was great and on time and the doom bar beers amazing. Well... More
