At the very end of Cowley road, it is a nice pub that had a varying clientele, though that may be primarily due to the Cowley Road festival on that day. There was very good live music right outside the pub. The... read more

Had a day in Oxford without any purpose other than to have a good mooch. Found this pub before visiting the botanic gardens. The pub offers a good choice of real ales of which I had a pint of well kept Brakesspear. My partner was surprised by the selection of gins and had one called Ophir which was served with... More

Dear Kdog5000, Thank you for taking the time to write this review! It is true that our Pub is very close to Magdalen College so a very nice choice to enjoy a drink if you are around City Center. We were looking for somewhere to watch the tennis and have a bite to eat. The food was good, we had 5 small plates, rather like tapas, for £18, which was plenty for 2 of us. This is a pub which sells food, rather than a restaurant, but it's good food and there is outside seating if the weather is... More

Five of us were on the hunt for a Sunday lunch in Oxford. We nearly didn't go to the Cape of Good Hope after looking at the mixed reviews, however, it was fine.
