Delicious And Authentic

We ordered Beef in clay pot twice( from the menu section, "Not yet westernized") and found it authentic and consistently delicious. The decor was interesting. Even the bathroom was filled with antiques and had a tape playing Chinese language lesson.

7 of us went to Shangai 30's for family Sunday lunch. Service was very slow. Not a big place but they were full. As it was lunch most diners were having DIm Sum but we chose from the traditional menu. Food selection was very good with some unusual dishes and when it arrived it was good. But it took ages... Overpriced and poor quality. Went for the set menu, howver the food was like you average take-away. It was greasy, not overly generous with the meat and swamped with sweet sickly sauce. The service was poor and disorganized with long waits before you were seen to. On top of that they automatically add a 10% service charge. Will not go... More

My wife and I thought we would try this restaurant for a lunchtime treat. I always try to find something positive to say in support of the premises, but in this case it would be correct to describe the service as slow and the meal as poor. One of the waitresses was engrossed in her smartphone and the service overall... More

The restaurant is on the first floor. Decorated in the style of 1930's Shanghai, the place give an old feeling. The servers were a bit disorganised and we had to wait a long time to give our orders even though we had reserved a table. The delicious food however made up for the inconvenience.

What a wonder place. Plenty of atmosphere and fantastic food. We like our food to arrive at the table piping hot and this place does just that. Best Chinese restaurant I've eaten in. Excellent place...book and experience a great night.

We were a large group on a Christmas meal on an already very busy Saturday night. Firstly, service was surprisingly good, considering the pressures they were under. The waiting staff were very patient with us during a tortuous ordering process where people wanted a range of different foods. They were happy to discuss what menu items were like as well... More

Wow, what a find! A friend recommended this restaurant and I'm so glad he did. Decor is as it sounds, 1930's Shanghai. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. We were told not to choose your standard dishes that you find yourself ordering every time you eat Chinese. We went for xin jaing lamb - succulent pieces of five spice... More

Shanghai 30's is always a treat. This lunchtime we had the dim sum selection, with additional dishes. There's something quite unique about this restaurant, the menu presents an original take on Chinese favourites, these are presented freshly cooked, with an emphasis on quality ingredients. The service is exemplary.
