Description: Idyllically nestled in the Chiltern Hills amongst some of the most...
Idyllically nestled in the Chiltern Hills amongst some of the most beautiful beech woods in England, sits this most pretty and picturesque English country pub with rooms. The Cherry Tree Inn is a 500 year old brick and flint building that was formerly 3 cottages. Now, a thriving, bustling quintessential English country pub and inn, it has had a huge lease of life since its new owners gave it a makeover in February 2012. Whilst keeping its gorgeous traditional interior, with original flagstone floors, heavy beams and low ceilings, they have also brought it right up to the 20th century with innovative design, interiors, colours and overall excellent service. The rooms are set in a lovely barn conversion next to the pub and with its four ensuite AA 4* letting rooms with king size beds and clean, crisp linens, it's perfect for both private or corporate needs. Breakfasts are hearty and guests are assured of a peaceful nights sleep in beautiful surroundings. The food is right up there with some of the best in the area. Modern British classics, meets some favourite European treats and all food is cooked fresh, to order and using only the freshest, where possible local ingredients from both local suppliers and some of the many estates producing some outstanding meats. The wine list is pretty healthy too, with Bury Brothers & Rudd supplying a lot of their wines. Likewise, they have a great selection of champagnes, the beer is very well kept with mainly the local Brakspears on tap and a good selection bottled beers, spirits and liqueurs. Just 6 miles west of glorious Henley on Thames and surrounded by some of the best walking, cycling and riding territory you'll find, it's firmly on the 'Destination Pub' radar, as well as being loved and supported by the local area.

Beautiful place, food OK

This is a beautiful place, lovely garden out the front where we sat in the sunshine. Although we googled 'places to eat in Henley' this is actually about 8 miles out if Henley. We had lunch here - baked Camembert which is always delicious, Calamari which was bland & very greasy, and some olives... read more

Arrived hot thirsty & hungry on a tramp through the bluebells woods and found this 'oasis'. Great service quality food and excellent beer plus the garden furniture was in good order All in all a great place to visit. Deserves a 4.5 mark and will report again when have a more substantial meal than the great open sandwiches.

The website states that any of the adult meals can be done as child portions. When I requested this they said it wasn't possible - with any main meal! I don't mind if a pub or restaurant doesn't want to permit children for lunch, but I think they need to make this clear when booking. To add to this 10%... More

Came to stay with my girlfriend to go to the Winery just down the road for a tasting evening. We checked in just after 3, which is sadly when their kitchen had closed. The manager kindly directed us to Henley and found us a nice little cafe on the riverside to get a bite to eat. Went to the tasting... More

The Cherry Tree Inn and Restaurant Stoke Row is situated in a designated are of outstanding natural beauty at one of the highest points within The Chilterns. Originally three flint cottages dating back to the 1700’s, The Cherry Tree... More

This is an amazing village pub offering fantastic food, drink and accommodation. Brilliant attention to detail, nothing is ever too much for the staff in order for them to accommodate your needs. Great bunch of locals, made to feel very welcome by all. Pub is modern decor but manages to retain the traditional country pub feel. Great management and the... More

Came here with my boyfriend for the first time last friday and had a really lovely time. We wanted somewhere relaxed to chill out after a long week and that's exactly what we got! The staff were lovely, and the food! Not too expensive but really good... We shared the platter to start, which was nice to pick at and... More

We stayed on a Sunday night, nice comfortable room, nothing fancy but clean & tidy, ensuite & tv - all you need for a short stay really. Dinner menu was nicely different & served until evening which was good for a Sunday. The duck was extremely good & my husband thoroughly enjoyed the sea bass cassoulet - the pistachio brulee... Good location - we ate late on Sunday afternoon and probably had the last of the specials. Quality was disappointing. Pork was tough and just warm. Had hoped for better.
