This is a nice balance between a genuine village pub, and food based enterprise. There is a risk that places like this can become so pretentious that it becomes prohibitively expensive to visit, but the menu had a good balance between "pub food" & restaurant options. I had the Stake & Ale pie, and my wife had the Hake, bit... More

I had not frequented the Crown for at least 20 years until the other day when we met some friends there for lunch. I can definitely say I will be back much sooner than before. Delicious food and competent service, I can see why it was so difficult to park even at lunchtime. Can't wait to go back!

After a golfing morning nearby we paid our first ever visit to The Crown for a light lunch and a drink. The food was just excellent, the local beer first class, the staff friendly and efficient, we will return. A must for visitors to the area.

We arrived after a very long day at the Game Fair having been recommended by our B & B. We had not booked, and found it to be completely full, despite this the very friendly staff found us a table, agreed to take our order 1/2 hours earlier than the kitchen officially opened. The food quality was excellent, could not... More

After a bad eating experience at a nearby hotel, our party chose to eat out on the second night of our stay and booked this charming pub restaurant set down a quiet side road. The welcoming staff and a varied menu promised much and the food delivered. A mix of steaks, fish and pasta dishes met with unified praise; the... More

We visited this pub last week as we were camping near by, the staff were very friendly and found us a nice table in the bar and were happy for us to have our 2 dogs with us. We were presented with two fresh homemade bread rolls and butter and decided on the prawn and fish curry and the steak... More

I have on-and-off been going to the Crown for many years for local convenience but this time I was sadly disappointed. The Chipping Norton Ale is really nice but the food is expensive, which is normal for West Oxfordshire, but I do expect some quality for the high price. My plate was so old that at first I thought it... More
