Real Cotswold Pub

Visited the Falkland Arms last Saturday with a group of friends. We were really fortunate as the weather was fantastic and we were able to eat outside. We used to come here often some years ago but hadn't been back for some time probably not since Wadworth had taken it on. However having a birthday day out in the area decided to head over early evening and to be honest pleased to see little has changed. Coming here originally for the beer when the bar used to... More

We have been to the Falkland Arms several times, and I always think it could do better! Good basic pub food, fish and chips, salads, ham egg and chips etc, but for such a lovely village I feel it lacks that extra wow factor

Had the great fortune to visit this wonderful establishment. Was greeted and checked in to a lovely room with all the necessary facilities and very modern decor. Went to the bar and had the choice of lots of hand pulled beers (heaven) then had a look at the menu. What I liked about the menu is when you see at... More

Fantastic 16th century pub in Great Tew. Atmospheric with flagged stone floor, beer tankards hanging throughout, dark and shadowy with real fires. A great menu, never had a bad meal here. They stop serving after 2.30 on Sat, so get there before. They also do accommodation. Fully recommended.

4 of us visited the FA last night, booked a table for 7.15pm. We arrived and were told where our table was and 40 minutes later I had to go and ask for menus, despite a male member of the team looking at us as he passed a couple of times. At 8.30pm I went up the bar again and... More

A Sunday lunch stop with friends. The staff were very friendly. Food was rather costly and served on slate plates which is just a bit pretentious. We were a little disappointed that after reading that we would have a selection of local cheeses and asking for no blue cheese, we received two small pieces of cheese with no replacement for... In the magnificent Great Tew this restaurant fits, with its large open fire-place ans well prepared lunches with fresh products. We know it since 1988 and return there every-time we are in the Cotswolds

We waited on a busy Bank Holiday and ate the nibbles and drank the beer and plunged into our delicious fare.I had the salmon fillet with herby crust and my guests had pie with veg and mash. The establishment was straight out of the 17th century. Rather expecting a flagon of olde beers and large thick crusty pies (wait a minute... More
