LUNCH WITH FRIENDS IN A QUINTESSENTIAL ENGLISH PUB

Great Tew is a lovely secret village near Chipping Norton. We met at the Falkland Arms for a catch up lunch with friends. Having lunched there before , we knew that we would be well looked after. We were greeted with a smile and a lovely warm bar and shown to our reserved table. The menu... read more

We often visit this little pub but mainly at lunch times, we have visited with children and with out the children. The pub is traditional, smallish inside, the food has been lovely and we have always found the staff helpful and accommodating. We love the beetroot risotto and one time it wasn't on the menu but they still were able... More

Turned up here with my wife and four year old for a meal. Went into the restaurant which was full, so went into the bar which had some free tables. Sat down only too be told by the bar staff that there was a no kids in the bar rule. I pointed out that there were dogs in the bar... More

They only way I would improve this pub is to take it apart brick by brick and rebuild it nearer to me. I travelled with my wife to the Falkland arms to meet another couple and this was the half way point. How refreshing to find a traditional English pub with a warm welcome a great choice of real ale... More

A difficult place to find tucked away in a lovely thatched village but it`s worth making the effort to find it. a very authentic interior with a log fire. We were greeted with a warm welcome and we managed to bag the only table available in the main dining area right by the fire. We ordered drinks and were given... More

Two weeks before Christmas I booked a table for four for Boxing day. I booked early so I could get a decent table away from the the bar and the Boxing Day revellers. We arrived early so we could have a drink before we took our seats. I told one of the staff we had a table booked for 2pm.... More

My mother booked a table for four, for today (Boxing Day, 2014), a couple of weeks ago. When we arrived we were shown to a narrow coffee table with a high settle one side and two stools the other. It was impossible to sit at the settle and eat from the table, and impossible to sit on the stools without... More

Have visited a few times over the space of a few years. The position is delightful, as is the look/feel of the building. The food is not amazing but perfectly tasty and homely. But the overall experience is brilliant, and quite unique. Book a table if eating! The pub is tiny. We look forward to returning.
