Looking for a quick meal before travelling on we entered the premises and asked for a table for 4, although there were only a few tables occupied it took ages for them to decide on a table for us. The table was set but hadn't been wiped down properly and was grubby. We sat for a good 5 minutes before... More

Called in here this week while passing on the way to Burford- finding decent pub food in the Cotswalds that isn't stupidly expensive is always a challenge- this one is worth a visit. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the pub has a lovely setting and an extensive outdoor area for when the weather is nice (which it was).... More

We stay at our friends cottage just down the road from the pub and have drunk and eaten previously, we had felt that the pub had become a little to expensive for our liking so it was a pleasant change that the new couple have kept the food prices at an acceptable level, we found the food to be excelent... We went here for Sunday lunch and had a lovely three course meal. Prawn cocktail starter had plenty of prawns unlike other places I've been. The Roast beef with all the trimmings was delicious and the cheesecake was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere. Overall an excellent place to eat at great value.

I can't understand why this place has received any bad reviews!Visited both on the Saturday and Sunday. Wonderful place. The food was lovely and great value for money. I had a steak which was cooked exactly how I'd asked for it. The breaded Brie was outstanding and the baguette was fresh, filling and tasty. Sunday roast was perfect!! The staff... More

This was a really weird visit. Were fairly local and wanted to try a new place. We saw the carpenters arms had good reviews so decided to try it out. Its slightly out of town so we assumed it may have to work a little harder to get customers... Firstly there was noone in the pub at 12.15 on a... More
