We always try to eat here when in the area. Have had big family meals and small cozy ones here. My wife's Cauliflower soup was very tasty indeed. Wife's grilled Salmon and... More

We visited for a meal on the way back from a walk around the snowdrops in Sherborne. We stopped by chance, knowing nothing about the place, but enjoyed a very nice meal and thought what a lovely old pub with a good atmosphere.

The light lunch menu had many inviting choices. I had a warm salad with Clonakilty Black Pudding, pancetta and poached egg which was delicious (being... More

Well the SO and I were returning from a weekend in Oxford on a Sunday lunchtime. The weather was appalling and we were both hungry. There on the side of the road was the Inn. The SO had spotted it on the way down and said how nice it looked. So we turned in and made our way to the... More

I can only describe this meal as terrible! On arrival you are greeted by a large slightly intimidating black dog (I am a dog owner) which seems to leave giant piles of sh+t all over the courtyard, at least one member of our party ended up with this on their shoes. The number of piles I saw around the grounds suggests... Matthew Sharp (of The Dorchester and the Ritz in London, Le George V in Paris, the Mandarin Hotel Group in Jakarta, Hong Kong and Manila and the Michelin starred Talbooth in Essex) has created an excellent menu which perfectly compliments the season in which you visit and underpins all that is great about quality British/Continental food. An excellent fish menu... More
