We met our Son & Daughter in law for Sunday lunch today at The Angel. We were greeted with a warm welcome and felt that the pub had an excellent atmosphere. The food was very good all flavoursome, well presented and the Berry B&B pudding excellent (I have a dreadful sweet tooth!!).Service was good As this is a dog friendly... More

A lovely old pub, with friendly but slow service. Beer uninteresting and pricey. Food passable although my steak was a chewing challenge! Not good value for money nor worth making a special visit from Oxford for.

We had looked forward to our regular annual visit to Burford to see friends and to eat at the Angel on the 1st night of our visit, as has been our habit for a number of years. Sadly, something seems to have gone a bit astray since this time last year. The same log fire burning away and some good... More

We planned to have dinner here one Sunday evening when staying in Burford, but decided against it because of the dreadful service and attitude of the barman when we ordered drinks and asked for a menu - don't really see it as him doing us a favour serving us!

We broke our journey to Wales at Burford, parked up and looked for lunch. We came across the Angel, which looked unpretentious and proved so. Serving well kept draught beers, it also produced very fine food. My better half chose a fish finger butty, which was served with fries, while I chose the cod in beer batter, served with freshly... Went on a Wednesday night and wasn't disappointed! Great food, service and fab wine. Had the chicken supreme and the sauce was to die for!

My husband and I visited the Angel on Saturday evening, I must say it was by far the best meal we have eaten in a very very long time, all three courses were presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The service was also very good even though it was quite a busy night. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant , we... More

Had a very tasty meal here at lunch, topped off with the best Eton Mess of our trip. This year everyone's doing a 'Mixed Berry' Eton Mess -- the Angel's was the best of the lot. (The Lamb and the Bay Tree in Burford also did versions.)
