We wanted a light snack in Burford and going past, we thought that this would be good as Raymond Blanc has a reputation for being a perfectionist. We were disappointed. The restaurant itself was grubby and the toilets worse, no soap in the grubby dispenser, a grubby sink and floor and a light hanging from the ceiling. We ordered a... More

I am disappointed that you were unhappy with your visit to Maison Blanc. I asked on the day if everything was okay and feel let down that these shortcomings could not have been rectified in-store. It is true that all of our patisserie is served along with its card base and protective wrapping in order to display the full beauty... More

We have eaten at Maison Blanc many times but for the last two visits we have had to ask for a clean cup and saucer and cutlery. Once can be excused but twice! maybe they need a new dishwasher or new place settings. But sadly the food standard has now also dropped. My salad was a mess. Shredded salmon instead... More

I am sorry to hear that your crockery was not up to our usual high standards. New crockery has been bought within the last few days (together with improved dishwasher cleaning agents) which I am sure will rectify this shortcoming. Our salmon salad uses superior kiln-roasted flakes of salmon which will always vary in size, but should always remain constant... More

Had lunch here with my husband. His chicken club sandwich was full to overflowing with filling and my hot smoked salmon Caesar salad was absolutely delicious. All very fresh. Highly recommended. Managed to resist the cakes but they are works of art.

A very nice little restaurant situated at the top end of what is quintessentially a very pretty and historical little English village, full of quirky half-timbered houses. The High Street is quite steeped and the houses lining the High Street bear a distinct out-of-kilter appearance, all of which add to the charm of this pretty and popular Cotswold village. The... Thank you for taking the time to write this kind review. We certainly agree about the High Street - it's definitely a challenge to hold onto your lunch at times! I am looking into refurbishing parts of our cafe and hope that this will regenerate it's interior appearance. Our team here in Burford warmly welcomes you back. Kind regards, Tristan... More

I have had breakfast here on a number of occasions, however my most recent visit was more than disappointing. My husband and i ordered the English breakfast but when it arrived we were presented with the chewiest and driest mushrooms ever and in addition sauteed potatoes that hed been boiled and definitely not seen any oil of any description. We... More

I am very disappointed to read this review and saddened the problem could not have been resolved on the day. Although we offered replacement breakfasts which were declined, it is deeply regrettable that we should reach that situation in the first instance. I have passed your feedback in its entirety to our chefs, and we welcome you back to demonstrate... More

Cake was delicious if a little expensive. The most disappointing bit was the decor which was extremely tired. We were sitting on a stained banquette which looked and felt grubby.

Sit outside with a delightful Maison Blanc Cream Tea on a summer's afternoon watching the world go by (or at least the citizens of Burford), and no matter where you're from you'll feel quintessentially English. You look across the road and see a row of eccentric, ancient, stooped and out of square buildings that connect you into a world 400... More

We came here on the strength of the recommendation from our B&B host, who felt Maison Blanc offered the best afternoon tea in town. The tea and coffee were outstanding, as were the scones and sandwiches. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Prices were very reasonable. As it was near closing time, the server added a few extras at no... More

Maison Blanc has good products. It feels like sitting in a shop and the service has no heart. The teashop is just the last one on the hill. Sitting outside is not very comfortable.
