Having decided to afford them the benefit of the doubt I wished we'd never bothered and we certainly won't be back for a third visit. I visited Gamston lock 22nd feb with an elderly friend for sunday lunch. The pub was very busy, we had to sit and wait with our drinks for 45mins which we didn't mind. Unfortunately the menu didn't appeal to me there was only one meal on the menu that I would have ordered which was lasagne but I didn't want... More

My Husband and I are retired and moved to Notts in the last sixteen months and have been trying to find somewhere to eat that is good value and good food and at last we have found it. this was my second visit side the fire. Excellent service, lovely tasty food, good value. Busy place so worth booking if you can rather than having to wait for a table.

This was the first time we had visited this pub since the fire. We were very impressed with the courtesy of the staff and the overall ambience of the place. The food was well cooked and was served with plenty of gravy - not all pubs and restaurants understand gravy. There were three of us and we all had the... More

Have visited the newly built Gamston Lock twice in the last few weeks, both times for a family birthday. Both times I booked the table weeks in advance and both times stated it was for a special occasion. Both times, on arrival, the waiter sat us on a noisy, awfully positioned table right at the front of the restaurant as... More

Four seniors returning from Wales decided that a stop was needed, and called at the pub as we had not visited since the fire. The property is delightful, good car parking and a very friendly greeting from the staff. OK, so you know what to expect from outlets such as this, but Marstons and the management have got it right... More

I went to the gamston lock yet again and received another fantastic meal the staff very friendly and helpful. However we did have a different waitress from last time she was still pretty good at her job but found the need to lean on the table and even at some point sit down on the table whilst taking our order....
