Having enjoyed many an excellent lunch and pre-theatre dinner at Le Bistrot Pierre, last night we decided to try the 'Menu Gastronomique': 5 courses and coffee for just £22.95. Will we do so again? Based on last night's experience, I suspect not. Things started promisingly enough - both the soup (split pea and ham) and the starter (mushroom ramekin with... More

Was told that you can't book for Sunday lunch and we would not have a problem getting in before the Theatre show at 2:30pm How wrong! If you like standing in a queue for nearly an hour you will be fine. Had to order as soon as we sat down then rushed food in order to get to the show... More

Table for 4 mid-week choosing from the pre-theatre menu (2 courses for £14.95). One of our diners was coeliac and we chose Le Bistrot for their extensive gluten-free choices. Great 3-course meal (had to have a dessert!) including a couple of drinks each for just over £100 so great value. It was quite busy, so the only small let down... More

I had won a 3 course meal for 2 from work and had rang ahead and agreed to book me a table in advance though they usually don't on Sunday's. We turned update due to personal circumstances but they were very understanding. There was a slight delay from turning up to being waited on but this didn't affect the service... More

Came here for hubbies birthday just the two of us. Love the new decor and good to see more specials on the board! The food, as usual, was fab. Seriously, their creme brulees are works of art! Sadly the service wasn't up to the usual standard - we had find a waiter to pay so hope they didn't get any... More

I was delighted to attend Le Bistrot Pierre in Nottingham along with my boss and colleagues after work. There were 6 of us in our group. The atmosphere was buzzing and the restaurant was busy especially for a Tuesday night. Our level of service varied depending on the waiter (note, didn't see any waitresses during our visit this time) ranging... More

Was recommended by a friends colleague when visiting Notts. We naively thought we might be able to get a table at 6pm on a Friday evening. To my surprise not only were they not excepting any bookings until after 20:30 but the restaurant was already full! We left with out confirming a table booking and phoned a little while later,... Very tasty food, portions perfect size, all 3 of us happy. Service very efficient. Beetroot salad, braised beef and bavarois. Haven't been disappointed here yet. The refurb means it is less noisy than it used to be too. I would give 5s for slightly more interest from waiting staff and if the vegetables were not searingly hot (microwaved methinks).

My wife and I have visited this restaurant many times for pre-theatre dining - and we have yet to be disappointed. The food is consistently of a high standard, and the staff are invariably smart, polite, friendly and helpful; it is an atmospheric venue with a good "buzz" but without the usual excessive canned "background" music. The prices both for... More

Talk about saving the best until last. We went there on our last night in the UK with our local friends who had only ever had lunch there before. We booked well ahead to get in as it is a very popular restaurant in Nottingham. It was packed full with diners of all age groups. The service was excellent, we... More
