I went for lunch with 3 close friends on Saturday and we chose from the £15.95 for 2 courses/£17.95 to include desert menu. The description of the ingredients didn't really explain what the plate was like. For example, my starter of deep fried and breaded monkfish cheeks came with caramelised sweet red peppers and a puree of chickpeas, which was very... More

Excellent presentation of the plates served A lot of variety on the menu, despite only having half a dozen or so options per course. Nice, clean and tidy with a 'rustic edge'. Over looking Goose Gate below, floor to ceiling glass lovely and romantic as we were given a window seat.

Been here twice now and recommended friends to attend and it can not be faulted. Service is exceptional as is the food. Had a steak both time and loved it. I would 100% recommend this restaurant for any occasion!

Four very small finger sandwiches per person four small cookies four very small fairy cakes four flat brownies four pieces of ginger cake and two mini scones each with a glass of prosecco wine how do they justify the cost (... I really like the Larder and usually enjoy meals there. I was very pleased to be going for Christmas lunch (and a bit surprised to see that it wasn't very busy when we got there). There wasn't much in the way of festive atmosphere and I detected a bit of a negligent approach to the food - perhaps it's easy... More

Visited on 17 December with 4 friends at lunchtime. Restaurant nearly empty. Good points - service was good, price reasonable Bad points - piece of plastic found in vegetables; only enough butter for one person not 5; Aunt Bessie's roast potatoes not fresh; 3 people left the mincemeat tart as it was disgusting; turkey breast was not, some sort of... You need an eagle eye to spot the sign for this restaurant, which is tucked away up some stairs, but If you are looking for a top class restaurant then look no further. The ambience is terrific, the menu interesting, the food delicious and the service second to none. My next trip to Nottingham will include revisiting here.

Taking a party of 13 to a restaurant can be a tricky business, however the staff at the Larder were superb and we hit no issues over our lovely lunch. As people arrived in parties of 2 and 3, our waitress was sure to furnish everyone with drinks, but waited until all had arrived and settled before taking our food... More
