Lovely food, good service

Food was good, very tasty and nice portion size. Service was ok. Not very tentative but average. Would come again but not in a rush.

Not been here for a few year as it was TOH birthday she wanted to go here. Well to start I had the mussels in a cider sauce and TOH had smoked salmon both of which were top notch. For the mains I had the trout and TOH had the sea bass again both were top notch. Really could not... More

We had a lovely, unhurried, Saturday evening meal there last week. My ham hock starter "verrine" was really tasty and not really like a terrine, more of a cocktail, if you can imagine. I had sea trout for main which was also good, and a really lovely dessert. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. Our friend who cannot eat gluten... More

This is my second visit to The Larder and unfortunately I left disappointed again. We had booked a table for 12 people a week in advance for a birthday meal. On arrival we were informed that there were very few steaks left, despite this being a specialist area and half of the menu. This was not good planning, baring in... More

We are not cognizant of Nottingham but we eventually found the Larder on the first floor of a building in Goosegate. We liked the decor and fittings which seemed to use tables that could have come from my mother's dining room. There was an interesting old Boots sign and fans kept the place cool. Service was very efficient and friendly.... More

Great menu, food cooked perfectly, there were so many different options I could have chosen, plus the surroundings are interesting and full of character - apparently it's the original herbalist shop of Jesse Boot, founder of Boots. Lovely little place, we'd definitely go back.

In Nottingham for the Ashes, new to area, googled restaurants and found The Larder, amongst many others, but this one took my eye, so we turned up without reservation, and was welcomed into a comfortable dining room with a warm buzzy atmosphere. Interesting menu, just right for the mood, and the meal was excellent. Wine list affordable with good choices,... More
