If you've not been before - certainly worth a visit

We visited this restaurant after a day out in Nottingham and opted for an early meal (around 6:30). We had booked as this was a Saturday night and glad we had as we would not have got a table otherwise. The menu can really be split into two halves - Steaks and the "rest". We both opted for dishes... read more

Seriously good food! You are in for a treat if you visit the larder on Goosegate. I've left a review before but I had to leave another one after tonight's visit. The food was impeccable! Wonderful tastes and flavours. If you're visiting Nottingham you MUST make this restaurant part of your agenda! Superb!

After hearing about my sister's fantastic experience at The Larder, I booked a table for the following lunchtime. The soup was one of the best I've tasted in my life and the lamb and potato were to die for. I've never had proscecco & elderflower beverage before, it was delicious and perfectly light for a Saturday afternoon lunch. I was... More

And I wasn't disappointed. It's not cheap. But, if you've booked here then you know that. The starters, for me were the highlight and then came some tasty steaks. My only criticism was I felt a little bit rushed through the meal. (Think they wanted my table?) If you have a bad meal here, it is probably an accident rather... More

I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant after reading the reviews but my excitement was dashed quite quickly after being served pre dinner drinks. We ordered Hendricks gin and tonic. The drinks came without the slimline tonic we ordered and without the cucumber traditionally served, instead a piece of lime which if you are a gin drinker it's... More

Booked for lunch on Easter Saturday to celebrate my best friend's birthday. Not sure what to expect but had good reviews online. Hidden away up some stairs next to a charity shop is a secret door leading to a light filled restaurant with excellent people watching spots! We had a mix of the a la carte and set menu and... More

Nice cosy restaurant in a lovely building. Staff were efficient and attentive. The menu is great. Good variety! Both our meals were amazing! One of the best steaks I've ever had and some beautifully crafted deserts. Also, a good selection of local beer and an extensive wine list.

The restaurant itself is small, set upstairs in what feels like somebodys flat. This just makes the restaurant feel more special as you can really relax and enjoy your food. The staff are great, and the food is delicious. I'd definitely reccomend one of their steaks

My 2nd visit was as pleasurable as the first. We ate off the a la carte despite eating at 6. We had 2 courses and shared a dessert. I had cod tongue..a first, my husband the haggis and venison for starters. Probably the haggis more tasty. We both had steak for mains, we hadn't had one for a while. My... More
