A lovely and special little tea house x

The White Rabbit is such a lovely and special place and always is the many times I have been. The tea, sandwiches, salads and cakes are truly scrumptious and the service is always lovely and friendly. I love the decor and all the special vintage bits and bobs, it makes it all that bit more special... read more

visited this cafe yesterday ordered pot of tea which I found a little weak for my taste so I asked if I could have another teabag in the pot. This was duly done but when I went to pay I was charged for two pots of tea. When I queried, this was told that that was the cost of an extra... More

I went to the Bridlesmith Walk Teahouse with a friend and our children. My friend has been to the Hounds Gate one before and really recommended it. We found this one, to look as lovely inside and the food was nice, but for me, I felt the service was a little off. I felt like the waitress was a little... More

Loved white rabbit teahouse, yummy sandwiches and toasties, with great choices of fillings. But the tea was what made it really special, served in traditional China cups and old fashioned teapots made with real tea leaves, it felt somewhere really special.

Lovely quality sandwiches however I did find £30 for afternoon tea for 2 expensive! A scone each with jam/cream a macaroon each( that were tiny and stale)small bit of lemon cake to share and a cupcake with frosting that was really hard and not very nice, 6 grapes and one sandwich each also served with a pot of tea. It... More

What a gem, a lovely little cafe tucked away on Hounds Gate Nottingham. With antique china and pretty tables this is the perfect place to meet for a light lunch or afternoon tea. A good choice of sandwiches, salads and special of the day, and to follow excellent scones and a mouthwatering selection of cakes. The set tea for two... More

Tucked away on Hound's Gate a wonderful place. Just like stepping into the past, a real old fashioned tea shop, unbelievable. Good selection of teas and coffees and light things to eat. The cakes looked very good but I had scrambled eggs, as good as home made. Prices reasonable and the service friendly and good. Probably best avoided at weekends... More

Lovely trip for afternoon tea with a friend. We went on a Saturday and had to wait outside for a few minutes as it was quite busy. The tea was perfect, as were the sandwiches. The scones and cakes were both delicious, but we thought there was too much butter cream and filling in the cakes, and the macaroons weren't... More

We found these tea rooms by accident while doing a treasure hunt and needing somewhere to hide from the rain for a bit! It is a really old fashioned little place just off the main road linking the square and the broadmarsh centre. Compared to chain coffee shops the white rabbit serves proper portions of extremely good home made cakes... More

After looking forward to afternoon tea at the White Rabbit Teahouse a long time, my friends and I were left disappointed by the dry, stale cakes. In particular, the macaroons were stodgy and filled with over-sweet buttercream - not a pleasant experience. Additionally, the staff were rude and, as other reviewers have noted below, rather short. The British tradition of... More
