This was our second visit to Nada Budaya, albeit the first was such a long time ago, that neither me nor my partner could really recall the experience. In hindsight, there was probably a good reason for this. The place itself is well situated, in the basement of a beautiful building on the outskirts of trendy Hockley. Unfortunately, despite this... Came in for the 2 course weekend lunch special for £8 and it was delicious! Portions were good for lunch and everything was very flavourful. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and patient in explaining the menu choices to us, letting us know the sambal would be quite spicy. We went for it anyway and really enjoyed every dish. Atmosphere is... More

Genuine Malaysian food, lovely service and a lovely room. It is a bit expensive, so more for a treat than everyday dining, but highly recommended, deserves to succeed

On our first visit, owner and his daughter greet us with a big smile. Knowing we're Malaysian from the north, owner brag about other Malaysian customer complaints that their 'Asam Laksa' tasted totally different. He stress that their Laksa is the Authentic Northern Laksa that's why they found it different. With hope and curiosity, I decided to give the laksa... More

This was our first visit to nada budaya but it will not be our last. The food was very tasty esp the rendang. The service was excellent. Had a very nice bottle of new zealand sauvignon which went well with the meal. This was value for money

We first visited visited shortly after opening and found the food to be of a good standard but the restaurant was a bit on the chilly side and a bit empty, which detracted from the atmosphere. However, our second visit did not disappoint and it felt as if they'd 'found their feet'. The place was much more lively and distinctly... More

I visited for a pre-theatre dinner with my partner and opted for the 2 courses for £12.50. The food was absolutely fantastic. Fresh, tasty and plentiful. The beef rendang was delightful and possibly one of the tastiest curries that I have ever eaten. I would not think twice about going back and can't believe it took me so long to... More

Booked table for lunch we were able to choose where we wanted to sit. However thirty minutes later the restaurant soon became very busy, which is testament to the quality of food on offer. We had the lunchtime wekn special menu. For starter I had curcur udang. Which looked like an onion bharji but contained bean sprouts , prawns, onions in... More

We had a very enjoyable early evening meal at this restaurant on a Friday evening. At 6 o'clock there were only on other table in use, when we left the restaurant had filled up. A good recommendation in itself. The food seemed to be genuine Malaysian style, not that I am an expert in Malaysian food. It was very tasty... More
