Absolutely delicious food and wine with excellent service - had the 9 course "taster menu" each dish described upon arrival and why the particular drink with each dish would compliment the food. Certainly looking forward to a return visit. Photo opportunity at end of meal with Chef who I am sure will be famous soon!! Thank you for a lovely... More

We came to la rock on saturday night after booking 6 weeks in advance, Which is always a good sign. We were greater by very friendly staff and nothing was to much. Three of our party had cocktails which looked great and tasted devine. We were then showed to our table upstairs which was set with precision. I ordered the... More

We went yesterday evening to celebrate Mrs Pearls birthday and had an enjoyable time. The restaurant recommended by many friends who know how much we love good food. The cooking is assured and certainly well presented.......again I think you can tell there's a BUT here....there were a couple of misses for me. Some of the food was over seasoned......my venison... Had to go into print to say how good the Tasting Menu at La Rock was on Sunday night. Without getting too foodie the balance, textures and most of all taste were excellent. This coupled with the matching wines and friendly but professional service made it a very special evening........thank you La Rock.

After eating here many times, and always recieving excellent quality and value for money we cannot fault this restaurant. A previous poster has commented that they had eaten a better meal at Sat Bains, and the rather poorly reviewed Creme, both of which i have found to be extremely overpriced, The rather arrogant Mr Bains' restaurant is double the price... I had heard fairly mixed reviews on La Rock but went with high hopes, on arrival first impressions and ambience was good. I am fortunate in that eat in a lot of very good restaurants so some of the smaller details weren't right up there, but it was all good. Had hoped to have the taster menu, had called a... More

We have spent years visiting Harts , World Service and Perkins which we consider to be Nottingham dinning at its best . La Rock is outstanding and certainly is as good if not better than its more illustrious competitors . The service is friendly without being snobby . The food explanation is an added bonus and the menus by offering... More
