Very pleasant Valantines dinner

This was our second visit to the Staunton, this time on a busy Feb 14th. We were greeted on arrival and asked if we wanted to go to our table or have a drink in the bar. As most of the bar tables were laid up for dinner we decided to proceed to our table. We had a very nice... read more

A group of 4 of us went for Sunday lunch just before Christmas. The place was packed, but the staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The food was very good and beautifully presented, and we had a lovely afternoon enjoying the Christmassy atmosphere in this gorgeous old pub.

We joined friends for a delicious lunch one Sunday. My husband was delighted to see that he could enjoy two of the roast meats on offer for a small additional cost. I enjoyed the salmon and sea bass dish in a lemon cream sauce. The wine list is extensive and the beers on tap are very enjoyable. The puddings were... More

the food was just ok and over priced for what we had, they tried to serve the food up as in an expensive restaurant but in my opinion the balance wasn't quite right.

Although our table was reserved for 5 o'clock to accommodate the sleeping habits of our adorable grandchildren, we enjoyed a leisurely meal in the delightful surroundings of this popular country pub.Children of all ages are made to feel welcome and there was a varied menu of locally sourced produce. Although under considerable pressure it was service with a smile and... More

My wife and I booked a table for lunchtime last Friday at The Staunton Arms. Upon arrival it became apparent that we needn't have bothered as only 2 other tables were occupied. We have called at the Staunton Arms before for a drink when passing but never eaten so knew what to expect with regard to the general appearance and... More

Our first visit to the Staunton Arms but certainly not our last. The food was wonderful great Sunday lunch. Inside the restaurant is well laid out and you don't feel on top of each other even when busy. My only minor criticism is that it felt a little rushed. At times the staff where quick to clear up and bring... More
