excellent place but not your 2 for 1!

Lovely oldy worldy pub with great food, bar and restaurant. Not cheap but what do you expect in a venue with an ambience like this; friendly and helpful staff; real ale (pricey) very nicely presented food and a good selection of wine. Highly recommended. And oh, lovely large garden.

We ate in the restaurant at the Martin's Arms on Saturday night and were very impressed with the service, the food and the overall feel of the place: a quality country pub with food in a separate restaurant as well as in the bar. Warm, welcoming and the food was excellent, well worth a visit.

We are fairly regular visitors to The Martins Arms and have never been disappointed. The food is wonderful and on a recent visit with a vegetarian friend she commented on the numerous choices and quality. Christmas is a magical time to go, fires roaring and the smell of woodsmoke. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. Dont miss it if... More

A beautiful country pub/restaurant, lovely atmosphere, serving fine ales, wine and superb food - booking for the restaurant is highly recommended, although eating in the bar is also a cosy experience. We had chef's amuse bouche of scrambled egg with fresh herbs served in the egg shell (boiled egg style). Starters of (1) tempura scallops with scallop ceviche and a... More

Quintessentially a lovely old English pub the Martins Arms played an important part of my informative years,so an invitation to celebrate the retirement of a Solicitor friend over dinner was an absolute treat, not as he was paying but to appreciate this gem so near to our Nottinghamshire home. The Christmas decorations looked resplendent and the atmosphere and service was excellent.My... We visited today with my elderly aunt, what an absolute treat! Log fires antiques , polished brass and copper, it is perfect for Christmas. The dining room was beautiful, the staff were pleasant and helpful and the waitress who looked after us was very knowledgeable. She made my aunt feel so at home talking about horses and farms and to... More

My partner suggested we call in to The Martins Arms for lunch yesterday on the way home from Nottingham. I'm really glad we did! It's very much an old fashioned pub but the atmosphere is warm and the staff are very friendly. It was a very welcome retreat from the rain. Having ordered our drinks, we sat in the bar... More

Chanced upon the Martins Arms with a friend and dropped in for a pint. Being a bitter drinker and a lover of Timothy Taylors Landlord, l was happy that we did. The pub is very characterful, in nice surroundings with a pleasant ambiance. Having enjoyed my visit and having glanced at the menu, l decided to return with my partner.... More

Went to the martins arms after hearing about it on local radio. Upon arrival you pass through the main door and instantly see certificates and awards of excellence from Michelin, AA and good pub guides so this instantly made us believe we were in good hands.. The bar was cosy and full of antique furnishings and character. We were offered... More

Visited the Martin's Arms for Sunday lunch with a party of 7 people. We moved to our table at 1:30 and left at just after 4. The bottle of tap water that we asked for only came after asking four times (we first asked when we gave our order). My starter was fantastic - a whitebait and prawn salad: really... More
