Tasty, fresh, homemade food

Very cosy little place with great service. All food including condiments and sauces e.g. pesto are homemade (as their name suggests!) and servings are generous. The doorstep sandwiches are a must! The only issue is the waiting time, sometimes up to 20/30 minutes if you want a seat.

Being a local cafe I was expecting the place to be comfier. It was slightly chilly inside. Me and my friend got slightly confused with the ordering system but it turns out they just took a long time (around 15 minutes) to come and take our order. We ordered choco fudge cake which had a funky taste when you first... More

This is a lovely cafe, well worth a visit, very individual place. I have been a few times for tea and cake and once after the afternoon cinema for a light meal. The food is delicious, they use local suppliers, staff are very good, would definitely recommend to anyone.Fully licensed too.

We come here on a semi regular basis, probably once a month to break the monotony of my girlfriend shopping for shoes and handbags. The food is great. We recommend the pulled pork burger, fish finger sandwich and cannelloni... Leave room for the cake though! Yes, you may have to wait a few minutes for a table at busy times... More

We came here for an afternoon coffee & cake as park of a mini break in Nottingham, it was recommended by a friend while visiting. We arrived just past 2, so the cafe was nearly full of lunchtime people and we managed to get the last available table. The restaurant appeared to be clean and tidy. We ordered a lemon... More

This is a very cozy, buzzing Cafe very central and caters for Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. After receiving a friendly welcome we were shown to the dining area where other customers were enjoying a leisurely breakfast. The atmosphere is buzzy but relaxed and the breakfast menu offered cereals, fresh fruit, cakes and cooked food. We ordered Scrambled Eggs with... More

You will be rewarded with lovely food and atmosphere, double baked chips are wonderful, try to leave a little room for a cake afterwards, if you can't manage it they will box it for later

We like to support local cafes when visiting new places so were pleased to find Homemade cafe. Our order was for 3 bowls of soup and one meal of the day 'corned beef hash with spiced beans' - the meal took ages to come and when it did we were very very disappointed. The soup was one of the most... More

I had the mega fish finger sandwich which was incredible! My partner had a toasted sandwich and one of the best chocolate milkshakes she had in a while. The sound of Motown coupled with the cosy and quirky decoration is really sweet, it made for a great atmosphere for lunch. The staff were however a little indifferent, which stopped this... More

Visited after reading reviews, and recognised the place because of this. Visited Sat afternoon having done NTU open day. In need of coffee and food - intimate setting, good coffee in hot mug, shared delicious sandwich with son. Great! Returned with whole family for breakfast Sunday morning. Busy - fab breakfast, excellent toast, accommodated change to set menu, good value,... More
