A nice little pub that has friendly staff and the food is very good, with a good choice menu. Fish fingers are gorgeous home made and very tasty! The only downfall was it was it was a bit chilly as there was no fire on but will go back and try it again.

I went to the bar with every intention of ordering some food after a drink, but at £10.40 for a large glass of wine and a pint of Landlord we were out of there. The refurbishment is nicely done. It has a very modern feel now but my goodness only a fool would pay those prices.

You know when you are really hungry on a cold winter's day and you just want comfort?? This place delivered today for sure! The fire was roaring, the decor was very inviting and our lunch was totally delicious!! We ordered the sandwiches thinking they'd be a smaller option to a full lunch but we were wrong - they came with... More

Our first visit since the renovations. We found a very warm welcome in a very pleasant pub. The food was outstanding, fresh well chosen ingredients put together with zest. Even more impressive was the thoughtful level of service. No waiting for a drink whilst your dinner gets cold here! There were some excellent beers on tap as well. At last,... More

We went at lunchtime and though there was only one very pleasant young man serving, the food came quickly. With three veggies among us we were worried about the menu but there were several options including a halloumi dish, leek and mushroom pie and veg sausage and mash. Classic other options included steak and ale pie and fish and chips.... More

We went in for a Sunday Lunch in mid January so the open fire in the back room was appreciated. A warm welcome from the one lady at the bar and quick service made the welcome great. The food was all you could expect from Sunday lunch, we both had Roast Pork with mashed and roast potatoes with four veg.... More

Just been for a fabulous birthday lunch at the Heart loved the friendly atmosphere and great food can't wait to go back. There's plenty of drink choices and I found it really cosy next to the log burners it's well worth a visit

Hi, I agree wholeheartedly with the previous reviewer. The refurb is absolutely fantastic and a real welcome addition to the pub offer in Hexham. Food is really lovely (albeit the burger a bit too big - and I love my burgers!) and the beer selection is excellent. To be honest however, we have not visited as much as we would... More

We treated ourselves to a visit to the heart of Northumberland after hearing positive things about it. We went between Christmas and New Year and hadn't booked so went early, just after 6ish. As the tables in the bar were all reserved or taken we were seated in the back room. The menu has about 6 starters and 6 mains,... More
